‘What Happens Next?’ is a new interesting forum activity where you get to choose how a situation turns out! The rules are simple:
We would provide you with a situational prompt.
You would reply to this post with a creative ending of your own in response to the situation given to you.
Prompt: Sam ran around in the dark, trying to find a way out. Had she known that a ‘little adventure’ would lead her to get locked in an ancient castle, she would have never left her house. Her foot banged against something solid and she tried her best not to scream in pain.
“You finally made it.” A mechanical voice spoke from behind her. She did not dare to turn around.
Get together to create as many alternate endings as possible! (Parallel universe, who? It’s Content Subcommunity universe!) Please make sure that your entry is not more than 800 words.

Her foot banged against something solid and she tried her best not to scream in pain.
The need to scream is great so Sam bit on her lip to stop from screaming.
“You finally made it.” A mechanical voice spoke. She did not dare to turn around or move.
“Made what? Made who? Made where?” Questions screamed in her mind while a deathly chill went down her spine.
Sam's mind is racing. The pain from her foot and lip is real. She bit down again on her lip. Using the pain distraction or disassociation from the anxiety of the situation.
“Ok girl let us take stock.” She said to herself without speaking. Sam noticed the air is cool but it’s not fresh, which means she is not near an exterior access points like windows or doors.
Sam feels as though she broke a toe or two. So she ever so slowly and cautiously turns, painfully trying to keeping pressure at minimum on her bad foot.
She pans the room, using every sensory she can. The air leaves a mildly dusty and earthly taste in your mouth. No stirring or shifting sounds. Maybe she is alone, but she doesn’t feel alone. Where did the voice come from?
Mild panic and slight jump in the anxiety levels. Awareness is
heightened, Sam thinks “Where did the voice come from?” Recognition slams into
Sam. Silently she asks “Where am I and how did I get here?”
Sam’s last memory was when she was home, reading her Nancy Drew novel. Panic
increasing more. “What’s going on?” She quivered.

Let us not leave Sam standing Alone (or is she) in the dark, in a castle, in a room she doesn't know (or does she).
@Barltik2065 I really enjoyed reading this! It was suspenful, engaging, very creative and I loved your bit at the end asking the reader not to "leave Sam standing alone" 😀 Awesome job!
