Good things take time, for sure,
From the time you wake up to make coffee,
(Mercifully, coffee doesn't take *much* time.)
From the time you go to bed,
So tired that sleep isn't immediate.
But, really, anything.
It's good to take your time too,
If you want to be a good thing too.
What good are you, for example, without rest and perks?
That said, we need time to take time.
That's what vacations are for...
Thank goodness I'm finally there.
I haven't gotten vacation time for most of my life,
So I hope you get some too.
@Torean
Happy for you!! I agree with you. It is important to take a break and enjoy!!😄
Good things take time - I think that's true for most of us. It reminds me of how some people "peak" early in life, and everything goes downhill from there.
There was a guy I saw around in high school. He was a year older than I. He used to come to our class reunions, and I wondered why, since he graduated the year before. I talked to a woman I was working with for a while about him once. She was another two years younger than I. She had gone to see him in his office for some financial advice. He asked her about her high school days and commented on her lack of participation in extracurricular activities. He had looked her up in his high school yearbooks to see if she was in any sports, clubs, or whatever. He told her about his high school experiences. He was fixated on those times, living in the past. They seemed to have been the high point of his life. That is sad. I haven't seen him for many years. Maybe he's moved on and found another high point in his life in another city. Sometimes you have to relocate to move on from your past, whether it was happy or painful, and start anew.
I've had some ups and downs in my life, mostly downs, and I'm looking forward to a better future. It took me decades to be able to talk about my childhood sexual abuse. It shouldn't have had to be that way. It's been a long struggle with myself. I hope it will all lead to a feeling of accomplishment, of success. I haven't given up because I think if I do then that would mean that everything I've done so far would be for nothing. For me, it will take time, a lot of time, for something good.

“Good things takes time”
In the hope of time, I patiently reside,
As good things, takes their noble stride,
Holding on, with faith as my guide.
As years pass by, doubt begins to grow,
Will these words ring true? I do not know.

Tw- dermatillomania is present (skin-picking disorder) could be very uncomfortable to read, proceed with caution. Or don't proceed, either works. Take care guys!
Good things take time so this better be good
Because it's sure taking a while.
Too long, in fact.
Every day I sit here trying to get rid of that texture
Get it off, destroy it if I must
But in the process it's destroying me
Time wasted, feeling pathetic, and covered in spotty purple scars
This is affecting everything I do it seems!
But I sit there, and tear myself apart at the seams.
Lost in that trance I'm trying so hard to break
Is it worth it, should I even try resisting?
It's muscle memory now not even a hyperbole
So I have to sit and watch at what it's doing to me
Hardly even notice my fingers trace my arm
But a special event is coming soon
And I think, what better time to try than then?
To try to not pick my flesh apart for even two days
To try and get a streak
I've tried and tried so many times
Every time I break.
But not this time
I'll do my best
Won't trace my legs and arms and chest
I'll face this burden alone if I must
And it hurts, oh it hurts!
To look at the texture growing more disgusting each day I let it by
But I'll endure this temptation
This itch under my skin begging to be released
I will resist, no matter how long it takes-
Because good things take time.
And this will be good.
It just might take a minute for it to feel like it.
