Prompt Of The Week: People will always remember how you made them feel.
Hello, community!
I hope you've been keeping well! Today I'm back with another prompt for the writing series, where I present you with a couple of writing prompts to exercise your creative muscles every week! If you haven't checked out the previous posts of the series, I've got you! You can find it here!
Without further ado, here is the prompt for today:
@Clarisse29
"Haven't I blocked him yet?" I thought to myself.
It was another request for money. Like clockwork, this guy I knew from middle school would message me (and probably many others) with some sob story, and some reason he could pay me back soon. I usually ignored it, but this sob story caught my eye, because it involved a lawsuit, so I could actually look into it.
I did find it in the court system, but I couldn't find much information on it. At least it was true...
I thought about him. He was a train wreck nowadays, but he used to make me laugh, he lent me a Pokemon game at some point, and didn't ever make me feel bad about myself like most others did.
I messaged back. "Ok, I'll actually help you out. On two conditions. 1. You don't owe this back, I'm giving it to you. 2. This is the only time I give you money. That said, I don't know what you have going on, but if you ever want to talk, I want you to know that I'll never judge you."
@Clarisse29 This is an awesome saying. We have this expression up in one of the units that I sometimes float to at work. It says people will not always remember what you did, what you said but they will always remember how you made them feel. I love this.
@Clarisse29
I try not to let you live in my head anymore.
I can't afford the rent.
The things you said in anger,
are words I can't forget.
Maybe you didn't really mean them and they were just for show.
But you left soon afterward
Now those are the last words I know
You poked at every weakness and insecurity I told to you
You claimed that it was closure
but I think deep down you knew
The things that would hurt the most
so those were the weapons you used
You painted me the monster
My mind already knew
You made me feel disposable
Not even worthy of a goodbye
I try not to mention you at all
or the hurt I feel inside
Those are things that made you mad
so those are things I hide
Aside from this crappy poem I wrote
Here on 7cups
You taught me a valuable lesson
Never share much
😕 lame lol
@mytwistedsoul
such a heartfelt depiction of pain! thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us!
@Clarisse29 Thank you :) Thank you too for putting these prompts together
[back again to write my depressing poetry lets go :D]
You- You don't remember me?
Well, I remember you
Your voice, your face, your name
And all the sh!t you put me through
Lying- are you lying?
I wouldn't be surprised
Felt like I was dying
But you don't even recognize--
Just go, run away
I can't stand it anymore--
After everything you put me through--
you back again for more?!
I loved you, I loved you
You used me like a toy
I assume you must've gotten bored
Of this pathetic errand boy
I forget every goddamn thing
Save for how you made me feel
And here you are, it's almost like
None of it was ever real
You said I looked familiar
But my name, it did no good
Thinking back on all that hurt
I'd k!ll you if I could...
I know now I was one of many
It's just been so hard to see
But I can't believe your words
You really... don't remember me...?

Captured Moments
Our mind,
The canvas of memories,
The slate of emotion and feeling.
Times moves at a steady pace,
And the memories,
Fly into consciousness,
And imprint into the heart,
Of the glorious canvas.
Every feeling,
Every thought,
Ever emotion,
Radiates out of the heart of memories,
And to the edge of the clutter,
Of the chaotic mind.
Memories are memories,
But each on is unique,
In it’s impact.
The stronger the feeling,
The greater the obsession,
And the larger the imprint.
These imprints,
Take up more space,
And leaves less room,
For the precious ones.
As the strong emotions begin taking over,
The memories dissipate,
Leaving only impulse,
Obsession,
Fear.
But we should not let,
Out experiences and the people in them,
Let out feelings to cloud,
The pleasant memories that are left behind.
Everyone can influence memories,
But only we can determine,
How deep that imprint goes.

I just wanted to apologize for the typos - when I write “out”, I mean to write “our” ❤️
@Clarisse29 (Happy poem this time?)
They say people will always remember
how you made them feel.
And you, my dear,
will always be laced in my memories.
(dont use this/take this please please please)
