Family
The sound of people, cutting vegetables
at way too small and tiny tables
laughter from the kitchen, laughter next to me
this is a place where I can just be
no fear of being judged, while I am laying all over the couch of a friend
together with someone I like and we are laughing
we laugh until our bodies ache, until our voices crack and we start coughing
and in that second I want to hold on to it, I want it to never end
I'm not a person who is always happy, but in that moment I am
and I don't regret that I came
because those are my people and oh I know they are silly
but I am too, and they are my chosen family
