February 20th
...See more As we enter February and embrace our monthly theme [https://www.7cups.com/forum/projectsandevents/CommunityActivitiesEvents_1908/7CupsinFebruaryTheHeartofConnection_374480/], The Heart of Connection, we want to take a dedicated moment to celebrate a truly historic milestone: the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month! Originating in 1926 as "Negro History Week" through the vision of Carter G. Woodson, this month has grown into a global celebration of achievement and a vital time for reflection. This centennial anniversary is a powerful reminder of a century of progress, the strength of the human spirit, and the vital role of Black voices in our shared journey toward mental wellness and equality. We Want to Hear from You: This 100 year milestone is most meaningful when it is celebrated by our community. We are inviting everyone, Listeners and Members alike, to help us fill our forums with stories and reflections that honor this legacy. Do you have a post or a story to share? We are looking for community-led content, such as: * Highlights of Black psychologists, activists, or thinkers over the last century who have transformed mental health. * Stories on how history and heritage shape your modern journey toward healing and resilience. * Art, Poetry, and Wisdom! If you feel inspired to write a forum post to honor this 100th anniversary or any other topics related to the month, please link your post in the comments below. Every community contribution will be added to our February Masterpost to ensure your voice is heard and celebrated during this historic month. As we look back on the last 100 years, who is a figure from Black history that has inspired your own resilience? Share their name or a quote below to help us start the celebration. ------------------------- Further reading from you, the community! Please check these out and reply below to have your posts added! Makkah Royal Clock Tower: the tallest clock tower in the world
by AReine
Last post
March 20th
...See more Assalamualaikum. Hello everybody!  => Have you ever wondered about the tallest clock tower in the world 🌍?  Well the tallest clock tower in the world is the Makkah Royal Clock Tower (also known as the Abraj Al Bait) in Saudi Arabia in the city of Makkah.  The Makkah Royal Clock Tower is a feat of modern engineering, designed to withstand extreme desert conditions while maintaining the elegance of Islamic architecture.   * Massive Dimensions: The clock faces are 43 meters in diameter—roughly the size of a 14-story building.   * Illumination: It is lit by approximately 2 million LED lights, making the time visible for miles. The top of the tower features 20,000 green and white lights that flash five times a day to signal prayer times.   * The Crescent: At the very peak sits a massive golden crescent. It is actually a functional space containing a prayer room and several observation decks.   * Materials: To survive high winds and the intense Saudi sun, the tower is finished with glass mosaics and carbon fiber, which are highly durable and heat-resistant. The tower is part of the Abraj Al Bait complex; a massive government-owned project designed to modernize the city and provide high-capacity accommodation for the millions of pilgrims who visit the Great Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) annually.   ***Comparison to Other Landmarks: While the Eiffel Tower stands at 330 meters, this clock tower is nearly double that height at 601 meters, making it the fourth tallest building in the world.

...See more Here's about my Thiruvananthapuram trip 😊 I had a desire to visit Thiruvananthapuram (TVM) City and had it on my to-do list for this year. Two days ago when i accidentally checked the was tickets available on the train for Coimbatore to TVM. I immediately pounced on it and booked my tickets. My desire was to visit the city's famous Padmanaba swamy temple, go to the museums nearby and also visit the beach. As luck would have it everything went as per plan 🙂  Initially i had tough time finding a hotel room because the city was hosting a film festival. So the hotel rooms were all filled by film students and film buffs. I somehow managed to get a room, got ready and went down for breakfast. I was surprised by the option that i had. The had Puttu with channa gravy. It was my favourite and i relished that yummy dish.  I did have to meet a few customers and I managed to do that quickly. Enroute i managed to make friends with an auto driver who was very kind to me. After that i went to the temple. It was very huge and i was amazed by its grand setup. There was a lot of people and i had to wait for almost an hour to see the deity. It was truly a marvelous sight and enjoyed the sight. As i got out i also got in queue to have the lunch offered at the temple. The rice used in Kerala is different, that's big and red in colour. It has a delicious taste. I enjoyed the lunch and got back to my room. I was tired so i took a quick nap. After an hour i went to the wax museum, Art gallery, royal palace tour and finished the sightseeing with a visit to the beach for sunset 😊 As i write this great days experience I'm really glad i took a day off for myself and had fun 😀 I also managed to finish a half marathon recently 😄 it was a challenging one but i managed to finish it. Good learning experience on grit, patience and pers everance
