by Heather225
Last post
February 20th
...See more As we enter February and embrace our monthly theme [https://www.7cups.com/forum/projectsandevents/CommunityActivitiesEvents_1908/7CupsinFebruaryTheHeartofConnection_374480/], The Heart of Connection, we want to take a dedicated moment to celebrate a truly historic milestone: the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month! Originating in 1926 as "Negro History Week" through the vision of Carter G. Woodson, this month has grown into a global celebration of achievement and a vital time for reflection. This centennial anniversary is a powerful reminder of a century of progress, the strength of the human spirit, and the vital role of Black voices in our shared journey toward mental wellness and equality. We Want to Hear from You: This 100 year milestone is most meaningful when it is celebrated by our community. We are inviting everyone, Listeners and Members alike, to help us fill our forums with stories and reflections that honor this legacy. Do you have a post or a story to share? We are looking for community-led content, such as: * Highlights of Black psychologists, activists, or thinkers over the last century who have transformed mental health. * Stories on how history and heritage shape your modern journey toward healing and resilience. * Art, Poetry, and Wisdom! If you feel inspired to write a forum post to honor this 100th anniversary or any other topics related to the month, please link your post in the comments below. Every community contribution will be added to our February Masterpost to ensure your voice is heard and celebrated during this historic month. As we look back on the last 100 years, who is a figure from Black history that has inspired your own resilience? Share their name or a quote below to help us start the celebration. ------------------------- Further reading from you, the community! Please check these out and reply below to have your posts added! International Vulture Day
by InsightfulPhoenix
Last post
September 7th, 2025
...See more Tw: endangered species  Hello everyone, and Happy Timezones!  Did you know that the first Saturday of every September is known for International Vulture Day? Now you do!  What is important about this Day? International Vulture Day Is intended to spread awareness about the most highly imperiled bird in the world (mainly North America). Also providing a better understanding for the most misunderstood, and misjudged bird.  There are two different species of Vulture <3  1. New World, which are the 7 species found in Americas.  2. Old World, which are the species that roam within Europe, Asia, and Africa  What do they have in common?  Surprisingly, they hold no ancestry to one another nor relation to each other. They are very separate species of Vultures.  Currently there are 23 types of Vultures that can be found world wide, and 16 of them are sadly endangered species! If you wish to know more about these precious vultures, their history, and things to continue to spread awareness check here; American Eagle Foundation <3  I also found an image that shows the different types of vultures separated from New World, and Old World, which is below

Little Canada Attraction in Toronto, Canada
by Disneywoman

...See more So in Toronto, Ontario, Canada there's an attraction called "Little Canada".  I have tried to describe it in the past in chats but it's hard to describe it.  So I found some pictures that can help show case them. It's still a work in progress but I been there twice since it opened, once last year and one in the summer of '22.  This is a minature of outside of the building Little Canada is housed in, among other businesses,  inclduing a Cinplex, and bowling alley and food.   The building's currently known as "The Tennor"  an miniature  of the food court at The Tenor (as you can see, there's other places for minature people to be) The Skydome also known as the Roger's Centre aka Blue Jays' home.  Every so often, the roof of the Skydome closes.  Miniature of Ottawa, every couple of mins,  after dark it has a firework show  This is some place in Quebec not sure where through.  The last three I'm not entirely sure where they are from in Canada.  I think the first one is suppose to be the Canadian side of Nigra falls

...See more I'm usually a rainy weather type person mostly because traffic isn't heavy and things are quiet, not to mention rain is just peaceful... and so the rain came in early this morning around 7a.m. I usually turn the porch light on so it won't be so gloomy looking for the neighbors and I. As the rain stopped there was still an overcast. It's quite majestic... I didn't take a picture of that though because I'm mostly in my bedroom. Here's a photo I took, as I post this its about headed towards night time. The local mental health center moved me out here back during 2018. When I moved into this apartment it wasn't too appealing but the apartment manager let me do what I want with it, making sure not to go overboard. They've been so patient with me. I mean just a few weeks ago I caused a accident that destroyed the roof in the downstairs apartment. Thankfully it isn't too costly. ...and while I've been living here I made sure not to give up on the place or myself. I said it back in February that deep breathing will be how I got over my bad habits. It's almost two weeks and when I'm feeling heavy I revert to that, and it works! I'm not perfect but Ive had a burden lifted off my shoulders. A very heavy burden that affected my health. God bless 7 Cups.
