What's your favourite English Saying?
Hiya Everyone!
As British people, we have some very peculiar sayings!
Here are a few as an example:
1) Beat around the bush ~ Avoiding the main topic. Not speaking directly about the issue.
2) Best of both worlds ~ All the advantages
3) Don't count your chickens before the eggs have hatched ~ used to express "Don't make plans for something that might not happen".
4) Feel a bit under the weather ~ Feeling slightly ill.
5) Give the benefit of the doubt ~ Believe someone's statement, without proof.
6) Your guess is as good as mine ~ To have no idea, do not know the answer to a question
7) Piece of cake ~ A job, task or other activity that is easy or simple.
8) Cross that bridge when you come to it ~ Deal with a problem if and when it becomes necessary, not before.

Hi guys!
Swings and roundabouts - a situation in which different actions or options result in no eventual gain or loss.
Chocolate teapot - is an utterly useless item.
Turn the tables on somebody - to change a situation so that you now have an advantage over someone who previously had an advantage over you.
Raining cats and dogs - It's raining heavily!

Ahh chocolate teapot is one of my favourites :) Although it usually makes me really hungry!

Our very dear British family friend who sadly is no more had this to say after a meal he found delicious..........
" Now that was a very satisfying meal " !!!
