I'm going there to study Econ and a bunch of other connected subjects, since my program is a little bit interdisciplinary like that haha. I'm going to try and do my best though anyway!

J'étudie la Geographie(human geography). J'aimerais travailler dans l'assistance sociale(social work? Idk how it is in french). J'aime de la famille au paris donc je connais un peu l'endroit. J'ai entendu dire que c'est un peu sale tho.
@Iwuznothere Géographie humaine a l'air d'être vachement intéressante ! Honnêtement je ne la connaissais pas avant ton message mais maintenant je ne cesse d'en lire. J'ai vraiment envie d'en savoir plus si vous vous sentez d'en parler.
En plus avoir une famille à Paris est super chaud haha, j'en suis presque jaloux! La ville en effet peut avoir ses problèmes mais elle est quand-même super belle (même si moi, a priori, je préfère surtout Disneyland, mais ça fait un bail que je n'y vais plus).
Ouais moi aussi j'ai entendu pas mal de choses sur la salubrité de la ville. Ça me fait franchement un peu peur parce que je suis... très délicat quant à ces choses mdr. J'ai un peu honte mais je suis un de ces gas qui ne peuvent même pas être à côté d'un papillon sans perdre ses nerfs.
Oh t'as de l'anxiété? Ton français est excellent BTW tu me fais honte lol. Toute ma famille parle français mais mon français....ça nécessite un peu plus de travail lol. Je viens de changer mon majeure(major to human geography) donc je ne peux rien dire pour le moment. Mon but est de travailler dans le développement internationale(international development or community) ou dans la police. Basically social work on a macro scale. Pour le moment, je fait des recherches pour comprendre pourquoi les gens ont tendance à visiter les chutes de niagara sur le côté canadien au lieu du côté americaine.

T'as dit que tu étudie economics? Ça sa a l'air vraiment intéressant mais dur. Quest ce que tu veux faire après tes études?
@Iwuznothere Oui effectivement j'ai un peu peur haha, mais je n'ai pas fait beaucoup d'expériences en dehors de chez moi donc ça aussi n'aide pas.
Mais vraiment ne t'en prends pas pour ton français ! Crois-moi c'est vraiment meilleur que la plupart des gens qui étudient en France que je connais haha, ton niveau est déjà très au-dessus de la moyenne. En plus, ma langue maternelle, l'italien, est la langue vivante la plus proche du français donc ça aussi aide beaucoup.
En tout cas je trouve le fait que tu veux apprendre le français parce que ta famille le parle très admirable ! Moi perso j'ai dû l'apprendre car j'étais contraint de le faire (j'ai vécu dans un pays francophone pour une période) et il n'y a pas grand honneur à ce qu'on est obligé de faire.
En tout cas si vous voulez travailler dans le développement international le français est super important ! Moi aussi j'ai fait des études en développement, dans mon premier cycle. Je n'ai quand même jamais entendu quelqu'un qui voulait faire ça ou travailler plutôt dans la police ; ta créativité certainement dépasse la mienne haha. Moi perso, et j'ai un peu honte de le dire, je n'ai pas encore très clair ce que je veux ou je ne veux pas faire. Je suis un peu hanté par l'indécision haha.
En tout cas moi aussi je veux savoir la réponse à ta question de recherche ! Même si je sais déjà que je préférerais visiter le Canada au lieu des États-Unis mdr.
D'ailleurs completely unrelated mais je suis aussi un peu surpris par comment ce site gère la censure. Moi j'ai écrit pét i t dans un autre message et il m'a censuré « t i t » lol. Effectivement je peux comprendre pourquoi il voulait faire ça MAIS QUAND MÊME.

Pardon premier cycle c'est quoi exactement? Yeah je suis canadienne donc ici, après le lycée tu peux soit aller au college(usually takes 1-3 years) ou l'université pour avoir un bac, masters ou PHD. Comment ça t'as déjà fait des études in international development? How old are u lol.
Je n'ai jamais visité niagara falls new york mais j'ai fait des recherches et c'est joli! Personne n'en parle bizarrement though. Why would you like to visit the canadian side over usa? Im very curious.

Hey! Don't worry about the late reply, it's fine. I'm really happy you managed to overcome your introversion! I too struggle with that a lot (like a lot lot); I'm actually impressed by how you manage to follow so many threads at the same time.
I have to say I just kinda assumed the schooling system worked in Canada same as it does here; whoops. Europe is pretty uniform in this because of something called the Bologna Process, so hopefully me explaining it will give you some sort of further applicable knowledge haha.
When I mean first cycle I mean like undergrad compared to grad. However, undergrad in many European countries (including Italy) is 3 years instead of 4, with master's typically being 2 years (although there are these things called "unicycle" degrees which last 5 years in total). I found it really curious that in Canada there is something after the lycée that is not university! Here in Italy we also have the "liceo," that lasts typically until you're 18, but after that it's straight to Uni (or something like a trade school but you get the idea). I now really want to know what the difference between a College and a Uni is in Canada. Does your lycée just last less than ours?
Sorry for the huge info dump btw lol; I'm 21 by the by, to answer your question (if you notice the math's still a bit off there is a reason for that; but to keep your curiosity alive I will not include the reason, at least not in this message haha).
To answer your other question, I'd probably prefer the Canadian side because of the easier visa and better infrastructure. Also Canadians are in general super lovely people (I have another tidbit of evidence for this right in front of me haha). For context European everywhere are generally a bit "cold". Not sure if this response can help your research though.
YEAHHHH it is indeed rentrée time. I also have to go back to Uni and I'm REALLYYYYY not looking forward to it. I'm the type of guy that is capable of working himself to exhaustion, but then, when he tastes the sweet release of rest during the summer, cannot go back to working all day haha. I really struggle with maintaining a proper "balance" (though I was never quite sure what that word meant; to give you an idea of how far in I am).
Also sorry for not writing this in French! I know it kinda goes against the spirit of it all but... I'm just so tired and wanted to chat with you haha. I'll make it up later, promise.
(PS, if you too want to escape the dystopia I go by theemperorbeaver on D i s c o r d. Just leaving that there in case you feel that discussing in a public thread is not exactly the best.
