Languages!
Hello everyone!
What languages can you all speak, and could you teach us one word from one of the languages you speak?
I’ll start: flower in Mandarin is 花 🌼
@Mandie108
I can speak, English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and lil bits of Japanese ( from anime ) too <3
"Sumimasen" means "Excuse me" or "sorry" in Japanese 💗
Very cool!! I want to learn Japanese some day ☺️☺️
@Mandie108 💖💖
Mandie, I hope you know how spiritually significant 108 is in both India and Japan!? (If you don't, you should Google it)
@SilverTabbyCat63
Wow I didn’t know that!! It’s very cool 👍 Thank you for sharing :)
@Mandie108 ❤️
नमस्ते fossilfellow 🙏😊 (good to see you)... すみません (sumimasen) excuse me, and DEEPLY sorry... there is also a less formal way to say sorry too (gomen nasai) 😊🙏
@SilverTabbyCat63 oh I see, Arigato ( thank you ) 💗😁🥰
どういたしまして (douitashimashite we are welcome) 😊🤭💕
Oops... I can't speak English 🤭 ... YOU are welcome;
@ListeningTabbyCat63 It's alright 💖🥰
I can speak English (it's my mother tongue), but don't even get me started on dyslexia!?... I can manage 2000 Japanese picture characters (right brain, and dominant in early development) but 26 illogical Roman characters (left brain)... We all actually scan the top of the word and turn it in a picture pattern!... Silver/Listening (that was meant to be a secret, I was checking my other account at the time... another oops 🤭)
@SilverTabbyCat63 🐾💝🥰
@fossilfellow
That's so cool 👏🏻
@trueconfidant123 Thank you ❤️🥰

@Mandie108 I speak Spanish and Italian, and I always use a translator for English... Do you know of any Spanish-speaking listeners I could communicate with??
Eh I speak Spanish (Native) and English, I also know eh medium knowledge of Nawat but I am not even conversational yet
An example of a Spanish word: Amor (Love)
However, I know you said One, but please allow me to say various words in Nawat
Shuchit (Flower), Chikwasen (Six), Chikume (Seven), Atiluni (Cup), Mistun (Cat), Chukulat (Chocolate, fun fact the word Chocolate comes from this and its cousin Nahuatl!), Nejmachnemilis (Peace), Tasujtalis (Love), Tzakat (Grass), Tekwani (Jaguar), etc
@ItzVesper09
Wow!! Thank you for sharing, I’ve never heard of Nawat until now. That’s super cool 😮
@Mandie108 It's a heavily endangered indigenous language from Central America (And also my main ancestral language, I have Nawat heritage... and so does a big portion of my country), it only has about 500 or less native speakers left, mostly elderly.
Revitalization efforts are ongoing
@Mandie108
I speak English and Irish and this is how you say hello in Irish : Dia Duit 💚
@Amanda84
Wow 😮 Dia Duit!!
@Amanda84
💖
@Mandie108
I speak English and Greek. The word flower for greece is: λουλούδι and for flowers its: λουλούδια
@cheerfulKiwi1776
Very cool! Greek is such a cool language and I want to try and learn more about it some day ☺️
@Mandie108
Oh thats so great! You've ever been in Greece?
@cheerfulKiwi1776
Unfortunately I have not :( I hope to one day go to Greece!
@Mandie108
I hope you get to come here sometime!
@Mandie108
I speak Portuguese (native), English (fluent/C2), as well as some Spanish (due to the similarities to Portuguese), and a tiny bit of Japanese (because of my love for anime lol).
A word in Portuguese would be "Amor", which means "Love" 🫶
