@jesusredeemedme2425 I have lived in Japan, and there are so many different types of food categories! I loved okonomiyaki, udon, and especially donburi. I didn't eat a lot of sushi as there were so many places and types of food to experience there. I liked the noodle shops and even 7-Eleven was everywhere with a lot of relatively healthy snack foods. Several were cook yourself places. They had different foods at McDonald's (makudonarudo) than other countries serve. Everything with sticky rice. Seaweed was a snack, and I would have a small salad with special dressings for breakfast.
I love hot drinks and they had vending machines all over with so many different types of drinks including hot vending machines with hot tea or coffee as well as cold ones. Basically not just coke or Pepsi like in the US.
Their food is so pretty. I wish I could post pictures, but I'm on my phone. Also enjoyed the coffee shops. Would love to go back.

I have tried some rice dishes, but not sushi, never sushi 😁
I like sushi and have tried to prepare it, but only with vegetables no raw meats. Like the California roll.

I have also lived in Japan and there are so many delicious dishes to choose from... my top one would be unagi donburi, eel over rice ☺️ but I also liked friend chicken, miso soup and anything matcha flavoured. 😊

@StarlightEma Matcha is relatively new to me. How is it different from traditional green tea or is it the same thing?
The way they are cultivated is different, also matcha has a lot more caffeine in it 😊 Matcha is usually sold as a powder as well
It seems to have gotten popular. I love traditional green tea myself.
Matcha has gotten popular recently because it doesn't give you spikes like coffee does but mostly energizes you steadily 😊

I thought this was a little different at first. It seemed like it wasn't cooked all the way. It is very chewy, but tastes good once you get used to it. I have not made it, but tried to post a link for mochi ice cream that didn't work. I need to get rice flour to make it.
