If you could choose any place to live for the sake of inner peace, where would it be?

  • Mountains
  • Beaches and Oceans
  • Forests
  • Lakes and Rivers
  • Deserts
  • Waterfalls
  • Caves and Rock Formations

Oh I’ve thought about this for sure. It’s def beaches. It’s the place I can never be bored of. I am always fully at peace with the sound of the beach waves.

I have always been near forests, lakes, and rivers my whole life so i would say lakes and rivers as a top choice. The sounds of loons in the morning off the lake at the family cabin...

Have to be able to "un-hotten" in the summertime too!

Otherwise, mountains, waterfalls, and beaches/oceans would be acceptable. Not that deserts or caves/rock formations don't have their place in my inner peace.

@TareqRafiqul This is a hard question! For me, it would have to be a place that has both the ocean/beach (preferably sandy) and mountains! So... maybe hawaii!

@TareqRafiqul Waterfalls or a beach. Something about seeing water flow around and make such nature noises sounds calming. You can go for a stroll, take a swim, and just rest your mind.

I like everything but a desert. I’ve been in one in the Middle East and don’t want to go back.

@ReservedHickory86  I found the Arizona desert beautiful.  Drove through with some mellow electronic music, didn't see a man-made thing for over an hour.  It was a bit like being in another world.

@TareqRafiqul  Forests.  That's always my place, for some reason.  I just feel better in a forest.  Sure, a beach is better than nothing, and I love the mountains (lived at high altitude for some years), but forests are where I feel I can just BE.  All that nurturing life around you (trees, plants), and quiet, and nature - it's natural.  It allows me to just find my center again.  I've always thought about how I'd like to have a house in a forest as "my place," away from any towns, even, maybe have services within a 15 minute drive so it's not overly inconvenient to get food, but to really be away from man-made crap and just live peacefully.  The C-PTSD in me also says forests are maybe best because you can hide more easily, they tend to not attract people the way beaches do, and aren't as unforgiving as mountains are.  Either way, I love forests.

Mountains, I'd move to Alps if I could. And would love every second of my life there.

@TareqRafiqul

Old Growth Forest ❤️

Nothing like the smells of the decaying underbrush, walking bear foot and just let nature takeover. Not to mention the medicinal benefits the trees excrete.
