Orlando Nightclub Tragedy - Discussion & Support
Early this morning a mass shooting occured at a gay night club in Orlando, Florida. Recent reports site that 50 people were killed and many more injured.

I am deeply saddened by this news report and wanted to create a space for us to talk about this tragedy and support one another. Please share how you are feeling here and lets have a supportive discussion that lifts our hearts up and honors those who have been impacted.

I haven't ever understood how these things can happen. I have a severe anxiety disorder, and am extremely sensitive to many current event topics, so generally I try and avoid them. But I loathe feeling naive. I try to know what's going on.. It's a very delicate balance.
I just don't understand how we allow these things to happen. I don't understand the hatred that runs wild enough for someone to kill an innocent soul - 50 innocent souls.
If anyone has experience in overcoming anxiety triggered by these things, please message me.

This news is tragic... I'm in Australia, and I can still feel my heart breaking for all my LGBTQIA+ Brothers and Sisters on the other side of the world. It's incredibly scary when you think that the US is one of the accepting countries, and then things like this happen... marriage equality isn't even legalised here... The only thing stopping me from getting shot in a gay night club is our sane gun laws... It's still super scary... I pray for all the families affected by this horrific event and lend all my strength to the American LGBTQIA+ community. I stand with you in solidarity against these crimes.
I couldn't believe the news when I saw it... So many lives taken. Everyone needs to come together. Spread love, not hate.

We're all deeply distressed. There are 7 victim names currently released, one went to my college. My mother's student made it out alive but hasn't had contact with his best friend who was with him. Please keep friends and family in your prayers.
My friends and I still haven't heard back from a few people and are following every update.

@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn It's been crazy. With the update on names the student's friend did not make it. Neither did Luis from my college and we're still waiting to hear about Antonio Marrero.
He's still missing and we haven't seen his name released.
Hi, everyone. What happened early this morning is beyond tragic. My heart is so heavy and goes out to all the victims and their families and friends. We cannot let these acts of horrific violence stop us from standing together as one. As human beings. Not separated by race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender. We cannot let fear bring us down. We must love one another and recognize our Oneness. Pray for peace. Pray for Orlando. Pray for love. <3
