Reading an email on Monday made me frustrated enough to think of self-harming, and then I spent the rest of the week attempting to deal with the anger by focusing on tasks that would address the email and eventually lead to me sending a reply but when I finally did that yesterday I only felt anxious.
2. What do you appreciate most about 7 Cups?
Being anonymous and talking about things that bother me.
3. When opening up to someone, what would you prefer they don't say or do?
My least favorite thing is when someone who I'm sure only wants to be kind and to reassure me, mentions anything involving religion or what will happen when I die. My least favorite was when someone once solemly said that I wouldn't be sick anymore once I go to heaven, and wouldn't that be nice? And I just shrugged in response and said that I'd prefer not being sick now.

I'm sorry that your week wasn't so good.The whole issue with the email must have caused you a lot of physical and emotional stress.
I also love that too about 7 Cups. It's such a wonderful community.
And yes, I completely understand the thing about empathasing with religion. I'm a Christian, and while it can be hard to overcome the temptation of saying "Well everything will be fine and dandy once you reach Heaven", you also have to think about how that person feels right now.
We have to be very sensitive and careful when comforting other people. Hopefully this serves as a reminder for all of us💖

Last week my abuela had passes away and we had her funeral it was expected but still devastating. This week i was finally able to go back to work i felt a little overwhelmed but happy to get out of the house. I work 3 days out of the 7 and on the days i didnt have work i noticed i would feel numb and just want to lay in bed all day despite having classes and exams
2. What do you appreciate most about 7 Cups?
People dont judge and they give amazing advice.

Not sure ive never been one to open up people usually open up to me.

May she rest in peace. Losing family is a painful experience to deal with. I can relate from experience. 7 Cups is a wonderful space to receive support from Grief and Loss. If you're interested in that, you can join the Grief and Loss subcommunity. I'm not saying that it would immediately fill the hole in your heart, I'm just offering a bit of support in these times.
Going out of the house after a while must have felt good. Of course, with all the events happening around, it makes sense that you would have felt overwhelmed, Please try to take a break from all the fuss and have some 'you' time.
If people usually open up to you, then they must find you a supportive and understanding person <3

I’ve felt very fragile because I’m depressed about moving across the country, and afraid of one of the people I’m supposed to move with.
2. What do you appreciate most about 7 Cups?
That I can come here and talk in the sharing circle or with listeners, whenever I’m feeling vulnerable or scared or depressed or anxious.
3. When opening up to someone, what would you prefer they don't say or do?
I would prefer they don’t say something like, everybody feels that way,or life is hard for all of us, or anything that lumps me in with some generic feeling that everyone has.I am not everyone.I am an individual and my feelings and experiences are unlike any others.
1. My week has been an emotional rollercoaster. Between studying for exams. 😭 Celebrating my birthday 😀 and discovering this amazing platform that allows me to help others 💕.
2. I appreciate the fact that we volunteers have opportunity for self development and members have safety of their identity hidden through anonymous usernames.
3. When opening up, I would prefer them not to make light of my situation. (As in don't tell me what I've gone through is nothing compared to others.) And don't pretend you understand everything when you don't.

It has had its ups and downs because I've been exhausted from having constant nightmares, and yet I'm so used to having them that I'm nonchalant about them, while at the same time being indecisive as to how to handle my sleep schedule and my upcoming finals.

I would prefer that they not tell me "It's all in your head" or "Others have it worse". Those statements make me feel like they're invalidating my feelings and that they're implying that I'm crazy, whiny or both.

Annoying with most people, very sad about my work and a bit hopeful about my health.

Great source of support and daily reminders that nothing is as bad as it seems.

I do not like bother people my personal deeds, I wwould rather listening to them a lot, but when I am open to them I am still careful about what I say to not be disliked much.
My week has been draning, i've felt annoyed, scared, and powerless.
I like the fact that 7 cups is free and can keep my mind off of the things going on around me.
I prefer people treat me with an open mind and not make harsh judgements.

It's been pretty chill, my moods change a lot so that's annoying, and pretty tiring.
2. What do you appreciate most about 7 Cups?
I appreciate all the listeners/staff and members. People take time out of their day to help and support others, and members also reach out for help which is something great.
3. When opening up to someone, what would you prefer they don't say or do?
I prefer them not to judge me, or say anything about "what I should have done...".

Glad to hear that you had a relaxed week. I get the part about moody, sometimes we don't even understand why our mood is changing so fast.
Thank you for sharing about what you love about 7 Cups. Just wanted to point out that listeners are not staff :) We're just people who wish to use our spare time to be a friend to someone out there. Listeners are also members :)
Yeah, I understand that. Some people might ask "What would you rather have done?" as a means of wanting to hear you say about the subject. But, we all have things we're not comfortable with. So setting boundaries and letting them know that you don't like that, is very helpful.
