Hello everyone,

We have been listening, and we know that sometimes, even in a supportive space, it can feel overwhelming to connect or find those moments of gentle uplift. We also know how powerful a shared experience or a simple positive thought can be when you are navigating tough times.

That's why we're incredibly excited to launch Light & Lifts.

Our goal with Light & Lifts is simple: to bring more consistent moments of understanding, gentle encouragement, and shared coping strategies right here in our group chat, without placing any heavy burden on anyone. We want to ensure that there's always a spark of comfort and a hand to reach out for, even on the toughest days.

What is Light & Lifts All About?

Light & Lifts is built on a structured schedule of positive prompts, shared insights, and support designed to gently uplift our spirits and remind us we're not alone.

We're introducing a role, “Comfort Bringer,”  that will help us bring this initiative to life:

🌟 Comfort Bringers: These incredible members will sign up for short, regular time slots (like 15-30 minutes, a few times a week). Their mission? To share a pre-approved positive prompt, a coping tip they've found helpful, or just a gentle, encouraging thought, and encourage others to open up about their experiences and stories. They are here to seed uplifting and supportive discussions and offer a steady, supportive presence.

Why "Light & Lifts"?

We know that navigating depression can feel isolating. This initiative is designed to:

  • Provide consistent, gentle presence: No more feeling like you're entering an empty room when you need a little connection.
  • Share practical tools: Discover new coping strategies that have worked for others.
  • Foster peer connection: Find common ground and understanding through shared experiences.
  • Cultivate positivity: Inject small, manageable doses of hope and encouragement into your day.

Recognition

We appreciate everyone who helps make our community an awesome place. Comfort Bringers will be awarded 50 cheers per half-hour that you host, and the quota is one session per week to remain active on the team.

How You Can Get Involved!

We need help in building this initiative, so we invite you to step forward and become Comfort Bringers. Your presence, even for a short time each week, can make a big difference.

Ready to help us light up our community?

@ASilentObserver The "Light & Lifts" initiative sounds very thought out and put together! I hope many people sign up to become a "comfort bringer". Speaking of which, that role just sounds so sweet! It's like passing out a great big hug to those who need. This initiative allows for our members to receive more support in such an atmosphere and I'm all for it! It's just beautiful and I hope it thrives for some time to come! ♡☆ I hope the members feel heard, valued, and supported all the way through. I appreciate everyone who has given their time to host in any of the rooms at one point or another. ♡☆

@YourCaringConfidant I could use more than a hug, I'm a wreck I wake up annoyed that I have to face another day I spent my day's in isolation except 2 cats and a dog. I sit and write my thoughts and feelings, I try to be grateful but I only have 1 thing to be grateful for and and she was stepping now we're trying to fix it but I'm having a hard time forgiving and I know I'll never forget, it's been October since I found out my stomach drops when she leaves the house thinking she's not going here she's going to see him, she's not at work late she's with him. I overthink. I'm trying to let her regain my trust but all I can think on is her betrayal. How long does it take to forgive and will I ever trust her again?

@Dooptydoo Please excuse me for my extremely delayed response. I am seeing your post now and felt the need to reply.

The question as to whether you will ever fully forgive her depends on you, your heart, and your willingness to allow yourself to. The same goes for when. From the looks of it, I gather that forgiving her for her infidelity is something you are willing and trying to work on. I actually applaud your efforts for being willing to! The fact that you are trying to forgive, heal, and move forward shows just how much you care and speaks volumes about your character.

Relationships are hard and it takes work! Compromise, sacrifices at times, communication, forgiveness, and so much more! While this is true, there's many people who just up and leave over mistakes or through a rough patch that is temporary. Only you know what you are willing to put up with and tolerate. Only you know where you draw the line.

If she's showing efforts in rectifying the wrong she's done, then I'm happy for her. If her and this relationship is what you want, then I'm rooting for the two of you! Relationships can be fixed. Hearts can heal. Open your heart to truly forgiving. Not just saying it but actually do it.

If doubt, jealousy, insecurity, etc are creeping in your thoughts and heart, it's time to reflect on why you think that may be. Can you ever truly be happy with her if you never truly heal. Perhaps a good one and one would be beneficial. I am hoping for the best for you, her, and the relationship.

Sending healing hugs your way! 🤗

@ASilentObserver In 2019, 280 million people were living with depression, including 23 million children and adolescents (1). Depression is different from usual mood fluctuations and short-lived emotional responses to challenges in everyday life.  During a depressive episode, the person experiences depressed mood (feeling sad, irritable, empty) or a loss of pleasure or interest in activities, for most of the day, nearly every day, for at least two weeks. Several other symptoms are also present, which may include poor concentration, feelings of excessive guilt or low self-worth, hopelessness about the future, thoughts about dying or suicide, disrupted sleep, changes in appetite or weight, and feeling especially tired or low in energy. People with depression are at an increased risk of suicide. Yet, effective psychological treatment exists, and depending on the age and severity, medication may also be considered. Depression

@ASilentObserver.  This is a beautiful initiative.  Thank you for putting so much thoughts into creating something that offers consistent comfort and compassion as I know that goes a long way.  People need to be able to have that gental voice or kind message in their chats to help them especially with the hard day they may have been facing.  I love the idea of Comfort Bringers as it feels like a really meaningful way to support each other.  I am definitely considering signing up and I look forward to seeing how Light & Lift bring even more hope and warmth into the space

@ASilentObserver Wow, this sounds like such a beautiful and meaningful initiative! I really love the idea behind Light & Lifts!! it feels like exactly what our community needs. Sometimes, even in a supportive space, it can still feel hard to reach out or know where to start... and having a gentle, consistent presence like the Comfort Bringers sounds so comforting! I really appreciate that this isn’t about forcing positivity, but about offering understanding, shared experiences, and the little moments of light when things feel heavy. The idea of bringing small sparks of connection and encouragement feels so powerful! I think this will make it much easier for members to engage and find those small lifts throughout the week. Thank you so much for creating this and giving us all a way to contribute to spreading kindness and hope!
