I don’t know?

Hey

At the moment I’m quite a mess and just think there’s something wrong with me. I’m scared of growing up, and scared of deep topics into food, and budgeting and finances. I’m so terrified I’m incapable of no being able to feed myself, and being broke. Ending up alone and dying. I’m so afraid that I will never get better, ever!

I’m currently changing meds too, I’m on a low dose of my old med and feel awful, I just feel like there’s something horribly wrong with me and that I’ll fail. I dont know what to do.

@GracieMACK

Growing up can be scary and the unknown can be alot.

And to top this off, changing medication can take a while 💚

It's ok, don't be too hard on yourself.

We are feeling this way at times.

But I try to sit in the here and now and take it day by day, not running too far ahead 💚

Thank you so much Amanda, listening to someone else that isn’t a nurse or psychiatrist really helps.

@GracieMACK I understand, that sounds really heavy to carry on your shoulders💔 I just want you to to know, you are not alone in this. I know it is scary, especially not knowing the future, it feels like you can't control what happens on the future so you're scared. But remember, leave the future to the future version of yourself, trust her. Now focus on your present self, the best you can do is to make good choices that will help future you. I believe in you💕

Hey hey 🤍✨ I’m really glad you shared this — seriously. Big deep breath together for a sec.

First off: there is nothing wrong with you. What you’re describing is overwhelm, not brokenness. Growing up is scary. Food, money, being on your own, the whole “future” thing?? That’s a LOT. Anyone would feel panicky staring all that down, especially when your brain is already tired.

The med change piece is huge too 🌧️ Being in that in-between phase can make everything feel extra intense, foggy, and doom-y. Feeling awful right now doesn’t mean this is permanent or that you’re failing it often just means your system is out of whack and trying to recalibrate. That “something is horribly wrong with me” feeling is SUCH a common med-switch thought, even though it feels so real.

I also hear how scared you are about being able to take care of yourself feeding yourself, budgeting, surviving adulthood. That fear doesn’t mean you can’t do those things. It usually means you haven’t been given enough safety yet. Nobody wakes up knowing how to adult. People learn slowly, messily, with help, and that is normal.

And the “what if I never get better?” thought  that one is heavy. But here’s the thing: people who are truly incapable usually don’t worry like this. The fact that you care, that you’re questioning, that you’re reaching out that’s proof you’re still trying, even when you’re scared.

You don’t have to solve your whole life today. You don’t have to have adulthood mastered. Right now, it’s enough that you showed up and said, “I’m struggling.” That matters. That counts. That’s strength.

You are not alone. You are not failing. You are not broken, you’re a human in transition, and transitions are messy and uncomfortable and temporary. I’m really glad you’re here 💕✨

Thank you so much @LexListens2025, I really appreciate your support. I needed that. Because I’m still so scared that I won’t be able to be an adult, or live my life properly and it scares me to talk about.

But thank you for talking to me about it xx
