How has depression affected your sleep habit?
Depression can have serious and mild affects in our sleeping patterns or habit.
How has depression affected your sleep pattern or habit?
Will love to hear from you
I can't sleep until 3or 4am because my mind is racing and going over all the things wrong with my life or how I've failed or how I feel alone. I have weird vivid dreams and always wake up feeling tired and drowsy. I usually only get around 5 hours a night
Not feeling depressed as much as blah- then my mind spinning thoughts- cant sleep - wake up very tired wanting to go back to bed every morning
I wanna sleep all the time but when I try to I can't turn my brain off
I stay up till 12am and wake up around 4 or 5am
Right now it is causing me to sleep until 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM.
Basically I sleep as long as I can until my Anxiety replaces my Depression in the drivers sear and my Depression takes shot gun.
They take turns driving all day long.
At the time all I want to do is sleep and not have to deal with being awake, but later I feel a mixture of guilt and disappointment.
@BookWomanOfFahrenheit451- Despite the sadness of the imagery you depicted- I love it. Anxiety or depression in the drivers seat. How true. My heart goes out to you- know how you feel. Can't help but think the pandemic is hightening all these emotional troubles. Take care.
@River
i havent slept for more than 5 hours everyday for 3 months
It gave me temporary insomnia but otherwise I'm afraid to fall asleep early or before 4am because of my thoughts that I can't get rid of unless I get myself distracted.
I either have trouble sleeping or I just sleep for more than 12 hours
Sleep is something we all crave- often more than food. I envy those who fall blissfully and soundly asleep at the drop of a hat. I spent the last year and a half taking OTC meds, cannibas extracts- and unfortunately topped off with ETOH- all searching for sleep. Fortunately able to get weaned off those crutches- and am going a little bit better. Perhaps it coincides with acquiring my little dog who sleeps with me. Even so- many nights I can't turn off those incessant worries.
I have no sleep schedule. I go to sleep at like 4 am sometimes and wake up at like 2. I go to sleep at 2 am and wake up at 11. I go to sleep at 7 pm and wake up at 6. There is no consistancy.
