Hello everyone. I'm Alex. I've been dealing with strong anxiety and depression for the last 20 years. I've recently developed a dibiltating and chronic painful eye condition. I need to wear goggles everywhere I go to keep the symtoms down but I'm never comfortable. There are good and bad weeks though. Thought I would join this group to find support dealing with this life change as I'm not doing well with it on my own. Thanks! It's great to meet you all.
Hi all,
I have chronic pain and I don't sleep well due to pain and due to fatigue and pain that isn't really much better with meds I want to give up. If you don't have chronic pain, please don't send me a "chin up" type comment. Don't tell me things will be better. They are not better. I can't remember life being good. Was it 12 years ago before they did the surgery that ruined my life? It feels hopeless and I don't want to stick around for more.
@teoigo
I know where you are coming from. I'm quite young and dealing with chronic pain. It has completely changed my life. I will not tell you to keep your chin up, but I will share what has been keeping me sane most of the time.
I have joined a private Facebook group with people suffering from the same condition as me. It is nice to speak with and vent with people who completely undestand your pain and frustration. No it doesn't make the pain go away, but it helps with the mental aspect of chronic pain, which is anxiety, frustration, and depression. Try finding a group on Facebook, or a chroinc pain forum to let you vent to those who understand. It is also nice to give support with others on these pages and share what helps you manage pain and cope, and to learn from others what helps them get through the day.
Anyways, welcome to 7cups and I wish the best for you. I wish for all people to be free from suffering, yourself incuded!
Hi-llo I'm Addy I'm 20 and dealing with under the rug depression since I was 10ish due to multiple childhood traumas bleeding into dis-association to cope. I'm currently in a mental health group home where I'm medicated up the ass and can't tell most of the effects due to low affect and continue into unhealthy patterns of faking it till I break it and they just made my last source of comfort the very thing that will get one of us kicked out. I swear the head nurse has it out for me (will be a separate thing if I'm brave enough to post it). But I'm hoping to find help and support from people who care and know what it's like or share experiences.
Hello everyone, Im Teresa. I have been dealing with depression for 4-5 months now. I never actually got diagnosed, but I show deression like symptoms and feeling. I also am dealing with suicide ideation, lonliness coping problems, sleeping problems, and substance abuse. Just here to see if this helps. I dont have the time or money to go to real therapy because I am in my senior year of college. I'd prefer not to talk to a counselor on campus, because it is so small that I fear word getting around about my condition and my professors pausing my academic career. I dont like to talk to my boyfriend a lot because I feel like I am drowning him in my "sadness" all the time and that is not fair. Thanks to whoever took the time to read this.
@Thadessa Hiya Teresa! It sounds like you have been going through a lot! <3 Have you read the self-help guide on sleeping well? :o It may be helpful to you, if not you can find it here. You can also check out this one on (alcohol and) drug abuse, here. I hope you find them helpful! Do you think there is anything in particular that triggers the suicide ideation? :o All of these are definitely things which can be difficult to deal with on your own but here you're not alone! Feel free to connect with a listener 1-on-1 or check out other forum threads in the depression support subcommunity, there are also chatrooms for you to get involved in! ^-^ I hope you find the support you deserve, here <3
Hi I'm depressed. Just dealing with it ,my thoughts are dull-ing me. Numb. Don't care.
@Jujubean9 Hey there. Are you saying that your depression makes you feel apathetic and you don't mind it? If so, I'm glad that you can feel more care-free in this sense. However, I hope that you still have a couple important things in your life that you still deeply care about because that's the kind of stuff that motivates us. :)
I'm between switching anti depresants and my partner left me because I was being cold to him. And that the tablets are an excuse. He came to my home and said he wants to keep trying after giving me abuse so as hard as it is a said no and sent him packing. He used to check all my messages and I had to delete friends. I also stopped going out hence the reason for medication change as it wasn't working. I was just talking to a listener but got discouraged due to being told I need to stop crying and hmm, really not helped at all. I feel like myofe is just falling apart and I'm just watching it and can't do anything about it.
@lavenderCurrent2011 I am so sorry you
