Hi,

I'm just about to go to bed, I have to get up early tomorrow to prepare for a meeting with my dietitian and I'm really nervous so I just had to kind of.. vent. So, I came here. I'm worried my weight's gone down even further, or that my strict diet has lead to a lack of some vitamin or mineral. :( I'm trying to stay hopeful though, and I hope I'll be able to get a good night's rest despite my anxiety.

Other than my illness, this week has been off to a good start, so I hope this continues tomorrow and further into the week! :)

I hope you all are doing well this week <3

@versatileYard8117 I'm glad you're having a good week! Hopefully you were able to relax and can get a good sleep before tomorrow.

It's nice if we can get all the nutrients we need for our diet, but if not, it's ok. The important thing is that you will find out and can make adjustments - whether that's diet or supplements to support your body.

@AffyAvo Thank you <3
And yes, what you wrote about diets is so true, thank you for reminding me of it. :)

I hope you're well!

Hello Everyone,

I am doing about the same really dealing with aches and pains ... physically

I got a used Scooter that is really cool it looks brand new I waiting on the hitch and the carrier so I am hoping once the weather breaks and on a day where pain is not so bad I can get out and have hubby take me to a store since i havent been in one in around 5 years now.. But we will see how it works out .. I did drive my scooter in the house but it is a very tight squeeze so i got stuck in the hallway lol... I finally got out thankfully lol..

I am taking more breaks away from the group chatrooms and also cutting back on Listening . I was pushing myself to much and not doing things that i needed to be doing for myself. Not leaving the site or going on break just cutting back a little..

The weather here is up and down ...

Hubby needs surgery on his shoulder and his foot..

Bird is driving me nuttier lol she just can not get flying down correctly so she is like me lol..

I started doing a Adult Paint by Number and it so fun ! However the areas are very tiny !! lol

My goal is to learn more about using a scooter and not hitting things and not running off the deck ! lol.. also to make myself take care of Me!!

Hope you are all doing good !!!smiley

@Tyedyedbutterfly65 Not running off the deck is a pretty good goal to have! Sounds like you're doing a good job of recognizing your needs, easing off on some listening here and starting painting. I hope you're able to get out more on the scooter, I know what you mean by the up and down weather, it's so all over the place here too. I wish you well in managing the things that have to get done while your husband recovers!

Hi, good evening!

I got my genetic testing results today, and I found out that I have various mutations in the TTN gene. This causes muscular dystrophy/cardiomyopathy. My parents got their blood tested today.

Fingers crossed on what my future will be like.

Have a good week, everyone!

@involuntaristua Did you have the genetic testing done due to some issues you've already been experiencing? I hope you recieved good counselling about your results.

@AffyAvo I did, I had below-waist paralysis and muscle weakness, as well as heart pain and extreme fatigue. It's awful, but thankfully, I was able to recover from this paralysis- but my muscle weakness and heart pain continues.

I will be okay, though! I'll try to make it through everything with positivity.

@involuntaristua I hope there's some good treatment to delay progression/manage symptoms in addition to managing it with positivity!

@CaringBrit Hi! So cardiomyopathy means that you have thickening of your heart muscles, causing it to not pump blood well. Muscular dystropy means that muscle slowly loses its strength.

It just depends on my parents to see if they have the gene. I'm a little scared about it, but I am trying to remain positive about it and take things one by one. :)

@AffyAvo

I wanted to take small steps in self care, so I wanted to drink my entire bottle of water at school, and I've been doing that so yay I guess.

I do notice that I've been having so many negative thoughts and this stupid hopeless feeling... It's been a bit worse since last friday and I want it to go away. So I'll keep on practising positive thinking and mindfullness on this app, let's hope it helps :)

@Maddie0302 Oh drinking water at school is awesome! It's something I could have done much better with when I was a student.

I hope that the positive thinking and mindfulness helps, sounds like a good way to deal with the hopelessness you've been feeling.

Hello!

This is my first time here, just joined today. I've not been doing well. For the last two years, I haven't been able to eat without severe symptoms similar to a stomach flu or food poisoning. While before it was manageable with omeprazole and watching my diet, the last few months have been getting unbearable, and I'm no closer to a diagnosis now than I was when I first got sick. Omeprazole no longer works, and other medications I've been put on have either done nothing or made episodes worse. My doctors haven't been doing much to help, so I'm beginning to feel quite hopeless. I'm only in my early twenties, but I'm already worrying that I'm going to deal with this for the rest of my life.

@AllTheHoopla that sucks but please don't lose hope. you're only in your twenties, you never know what life has in store for you. I hope you'll have more hopeful and positive experiences in the future! (p.s. today's my first day too :p)

@AllTheHoopla Welcome! That's so rough when eating make you ill. Do you feel like you have a good specialist? I hope you're able to get some answers. In the meantime you might find that being around others who have similar struggles to be a bit comforting.

@shelovestopaint The good thing is that there are things you can do to reduce and manage anxiety better, although it can be hard.

Things are going pretty well actually. My social life has improved and I'm happier with myself. though I relapsed into anxiety a bit today, I hope to not let it consume me entirely. though I didn't do my best in class today, I hope to do better tomorrow. life is just a series of continuous improvements and pats on the back so I wish tomorrow I'll be a better me than I was today.

January felt like the longest month of my life. I'm glad it's over, and I'm hoping February is better. The first day isn't off to a good start, generally, but on terms of disabilities, I'm hanging in there. Depression and anxiety are rising because of life stress, and I'm still fighting that stomach bug. Doctor tells me it's cuz my immune system is weak right now; she gave me some medicine to fight the nausea and vomiting, and I just gotta let it run its course...
