I'm autistic and tips on figuring out my autistic self
Hello! I recently been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in August and idk if this a good place too share that I have autism.
I cant fully remeber all of my childhood symptoms of being on the spectrum but I like to learn how people manage like what helps overstimulation, soical interactions, etc.

Hello 😸
This is a good place to share, there is also the support plus forum which has a specific section on autism.
I was late diagnosed, so I'm still figuring out how to manage everything too. Acknowledging my sensory needs and working out how best to accommodate those has helped me a bit. Learning from others online and how they manage also helps me.
I think for me the most help is just learning more about myself and understanding my autism more and how it impacts me. The more I understand the more I'm able to find support.
Heyy, so I'm 17, I was diagnosed about a year ago.
What helped me the most was telling my close ones that I was autistic and telling them about possible needs that I would have (dunno if that made sense)
For example, I told my parents I was autistic and that I had problems with loud environments, so wefigured out a way to help me with that (noise cancelling headphones are the best).
Or I told my best friend I was autistic, and he started checking on me more often in the cafeteria (it's always loud there) and helps me get out of bad situations sometimes.
Those are just two examples, my parebts and my best friend made a lot more for me but anyway.
I think the most important thing tho is that you accept that you have special needs that others don't have. Telling people that you need help is not abuse/exploitation 1nd that you are valid. Overstimulation is overstimulation and it takes a toll on you, accepting you own needs is the key.
I hope my rambling made some sense, I didn't backread at all. Sorry.
