Anorexia - how do you actually feel today?
I
@BrokenCastaway - It's not easy, but it is possible to get to that point. And you've already made two big steps - you've decided that you want to get better and you've opened up here. Neither of those are easy things to do, but you took those steps. So what's your next step? What's one thing you can do today to move towards recovery?
I feel horrible today. I drunk some coffee and instantly felt bad. I'm so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I wanna get better, but Everytime I eat something, guilt consumes me.
@SkinImIn02 - I'm sorry today is so hard for you. Is there something you can do to ease towards getting better? Maybe starting with something small where the guilt isn't as bad, but you are still starting to nourish your body? You don't have to change all at once, but making small steps towards recovery will take you there. And there are lots of people here who want to support you on that journey.
I know I shouldn't be feeling great but I really am. I never had the ability to monitor my weight before (because I didn't have scales in the house). Now with the new scales I can reach new goals. And I've already hit the goal weight I wanted. My BMI is [edited by Anomalia for triggers] but I wouldn't mind going a little further. Unfortunately I can't share this weight loss with anyone because I face scrutiny and judgement. I'm not shedding the pounds to look pretty or to impress anyone. It's all about perfection and a sense of control. But I know I'm only making things worse for myself - I don't think I can bring myself to gain pounds again.
@MidniteTrivillia - I can relate to that urge to keep going and to get to what feels like perfection and control. But I can also hear in what you wrote a sense that you are starting to lose that control you craved and can't just stop, and I think you know that you're in a really dangerous spot.
Reaching out here is a great first step towards healing, and I'm proud of you for that. If you want support as you start to work towards recovery, I am here for you.
Deep down, I think you know you can't keep going this way, but I know that you have the strength to recover if you decide to.
I feel very bloated and I have a strange feeling in my stomach. I feel heavy and depressed
@WriteItInTheClouds - I'm sorry you're feeling so bad right now - that's a tough feeling to sit with. Is there something that you could do to help feel less anxious and in turn to help settle your thoughts a bit?
I actually ate a normal lunch and I feel really disgusting.
@NebulousCoffee - On the other hand, you actually ate a normal lunch! Which is a huge step towards recovery, when you can focus on new and exciting things and be free from the constant thoughts about food. I'm proud of you.
feel pretty good actually i dont really talk too much about it because im pro and people tend to frown upon that. But i will not share anything.. Some days im very dedicated to it. Other days im too busy with projects. Its a strange lifestyle that ive been living with for years.
I wish other who want recovery to be able to open that door to success.
@Jinks - Glad to hear you're feeling pretty good! If you ever need to talk and aren't comfortable sharing here, you're always welcome to PM me. Take care
having a bad day resticting all week and its playing havoc on my mind.. moods are awful trying to stay sane chemicals in my brain are screwd up. Feeling a bit crazy today...frazzled. Irritable. Understatement. But the goal numbers are just ahead.
@Jinks - Opening up and being honest is a big step. I'm sorry it's been such a rough week, but try to focus on what all the reasons to recover are and keep reminding yourself of those. Take it one small step at a time and keep working towards your recovery.
restricting had a small bowl of food.
But im enjoying losing the weight its rough.
@Jinks - Would it help to reflect on some of the negatives to the disorder or the things you would be able to enjoy in recovery, to help you keep your motivation?
@Anomalia hey there. I think I like the negatives keeps me going but when I step on the scale and see I lost weight I become excited. I'm far from being recovered. I won't let go of ana. Sorry
@Jinks - Well, I'm obviously really sorry to hear that you aren't ready to recover yet, but when you are, I'll be here to support you. Take care and be safe.
@Jinks
I totally understand....I'm not ready to let go either....
