Introduce yourself to the 7 Cups Eating Disorder Community!
Hi everyone!
My name is Jen. I am a new forum mentor for the ED Support Community and wanted to introduce myself to you all! I also want everyone here to know that I can, on some level, understand what you are going through, and if you ever find yourself needing support, my PMs are always open.
I have personally suffered from ARFID since the beginning of last year, and now anorexia. It is tough. But little by little, I am pushing myself towards recovery.
I look forward to getting to know some of you, and if you have any questions, I may be able to help answer some of them.
Kindest regards,
Jenn7Cups

hi im luca, im 17, ive had body dysmorphia for as long as i can remember. i don't know when my ed started but i had bed, ednos and whatever else before i kinda settled on anorexia in this recent relapse. i hate my disorder but i can't seem to be able to recover. i know i will find my way out of this eventually tho or at least that's the hope.
hello :)
i am wexia (not my real name). i am 17. i have struggled with disordered eating for 2 years. no one knows about it which is why i haven't been diagnosed and not being diagnosed makes me feel as if i'm a fake and i'm not rly struggling with it. it's just a huge mess. i feel like i'm on a rollercoaster ride because of this because sometimes it gets extremely bad while other times i manage to distract myself enough to not think about it. however the moment i hit the weight benchmark my mind set for me that i cant cross, the thoughts and actions creep back in. it's like a goddamn gate preventing me from truly being free from it. i was hoping to make some friends who i can talk to :D i'm new here and i don't know how to introduce myself but nice to meet you!!
@wexiaa Hello Wexia! Nice to meet you and welcome to 7 Cups! We're all here for you :)

Hi to all of you beautiful beings: I can’t say my name, but I am a chronic anorexic of 28 years (I’m 34- anorexic at 6 and 1/2) . I am now in hospice care after a long fight. I’m scared as hell, and I’m struggling a lot. Sending love to all of you.
Hello!
ive been struggling with anorexia but am in complete denial that I have an ED. My therapist made me read "life without Ed" book and I still can't tell the difference between a diet and an eating disorder. Still refuse to believe I have an Ed. I've had these problems for as long as I can remember. Recovery to me seems crazy... like it doesn't make sense at all nor do I understand why people do it. That is all.
thanks!

This may need a **trigger warning** Hello all, I am new to opening up to online communities and this is my first time reaching out to others. In my last few counseling sessions, I have come to realize I struggle with an eating disorder. I was one to think it wasn't harmful or wrong. It felt wrong but it never sunk in how much I was harming myself. Purging and over-eating started when I was in elementary school. I used to make the joke that my refrigerator was my best friend. I hadn't learned what it meant to trust someone with my emotions or feelings. Not that I even understood emotions at the time. As a way to escape my day to day, I would find happiness in the food I ate. My cooking skills mixed with my families low income made my specialties macaroni and cheese, ramen, and instant mashed potatoes. I reached my highest weight in high school. It was then that I first found a different kind of happiness in alcoholic drinks. Then in cigarettes. Then finally, the over achieving happiness I found in drugs and sex as I got older became my life. I always kept appearances up while making all my choices. Family and friends have always known me as the sweet, kind girl. I was and am a sweet, kind girl but now as a woman, I'm looking back and realizing that my addictions started with food. Once I let go of drinking, smoking, and promiscuity, I found myself back with food. Eating till I was sick. I'd realize it was happening then change it. I even went 2 years without binge eating. The urge and stress came back a few months ago. It's changing me again but I want to move past this episode. I am moving past the episode. - Vi, 31 y.o.
Hi
My name is Quazanne. I've been struggling with eating disorders since I was 16 (I'm 41 now). It got so bad that I was so underweight I couldn't lift myself up. But it has been a massive wake-up call. I'm trying to change, and hopefully this group will help to support me and remind me once I'm better (able to get up without help) that this is where I was and I never want to go back to this again!!
hi,
I'm not sure if i really belong here but here goes. i've struggled with my body image issues all my life. my earliest memories was thinking i was fat and i couldn't wait until my "baby fat" came off (i guess i heard that term because at that time my sister was a toddler" the problem was i wasn't fat. i was in the healthy to underweight range and have been ever since. i tried fad diets and forced myself to eat very little. now i'm an adult and my body does not tell me when it is hungry. unless i'm bored enough to eat an entire bag of chips i could go literally days without eaiting no problem. I desperately want to gain weight. im 5'7" and weigh about 108. i'm hoping that if i improve my eating i will have more energy and can get stronger. sorry that was long
