I feel let down

I’ve recently had a child with my partner he’s a great father but recently he’s lied to me a few times on things I’ve asked him to stop doing, he now has a issue with me because I can’t just take his word on it that he’s stopped. But it’s 3 times at least he’s lied to me.

The thing is I’m hurt because all I’ve tried to do is right by my family I’m raising a beautiful child and I’m constantly battling with my mental health and my self esteem is rock bottom. All I wanted from him was effort put into our relationship do I not deserve that? and how can he expect me to just take his word on it?

@tashdash88 Hi there Tash! That is a difficult situation for sure, and add in a new child and things can be really tough! I can understand that you are hurt and feel let down because you do deserve exactly what you are asking. You don't say what he lies about, and really that is not important here as you say. When you ask him to stop do you explain why it is important to you that he does?

I hear you and understand ....

some people after being caught doing things they should not still expect trust......... you are strong and can and will raise a child and it is good if he is a good father.

Do not let him effect your self esteem. it is not you it is him ........ ask him to define why you should trust him ask him if the roles were reversed how would he feel.

Talking and clear communication is vital when raising a child together.

Hey Tash, I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles, I heard your hurt and frustration in this post. It sounds like you are attending to alot between the responsibility to your family and child. Of course, managing your mental health on top of this would be difficult. I would also be disheartened by your partner's lies and lack of effort if I was in your situation. And it is unfair of him now to take issue with your very reasonable request for honesty and to show some effort in support of repairing your relationship.

What current supports outside of your partner do you have available to you?

So glad you reached out here 🤗
