Friendship Lessons Thread 🤗
Friendships often teach us things we never expected to learn about ourselves, others, and life.
💌 What's one lesson a friendship has taught you that you'll carry with you forever?
It could be about trust, communication, boundaries, forgiveness, support, growth, or something completely unexpected.

“Platonic soulmates” is a real thing is my favorite happy reminder/ lesson in friendships hehe. 💛
A more “balance out the whimsy with some soul touching truth” kinda reminder is that not everyone is a “friend”, and people can switch up whenever no matter the history, and that’s okay because it filters out people not meant for you quickly from your life and creates space to attract those that do deserve your presence and friendship! 🌻

I hope you are keeping well 🌞💛

I learnt a hard lesson , that honesty still makes me cry sometimes 😞
I was best friends with someone for over 14 years, and we laughed together everyday, we just connected from day one.
Never a cross word between us.
Hours talking on the phone.
Never sn awkward silence.
I don't open up ever, it's just the way I am but I opened up to him, nothing was ever filtered and he began dating someone who wasn't nice.
And he used everything I had shared with him against me and walked away , it honestly felt like I had lost a massive part of my heart but I was never allowed to grieve for it 🩷
@Amanda84 I'm so sorry this happened to you, 👸🐷! How heartbreaking that must have been for you. 😞 I'm not sure what you mean when you said you wasn't allowed to grieve this loss/betrayal, but you definitely owe it to yourself to process, grieve, heal, forgive, and move on. 14 years of a friendship and loving someone is a long time. It's nornal to feel sad by the events that transpired. I do want to say his loss, because you're the pretty amazing one here. ❤️

@Amanda84 It's harsh and frustrating and he's missing out, on having someone as wonderful as you nearby.
I can sorta relate but I was the cause of its destruction but in my case it needed to be said and mine was only a few months or longer.
I feel for you though 🍤 (closest I could find to a nuggie)
@ScrabbleBrain
Nuggie accepted, I'm good now, wouldn't let someone like that hold me back , his loss 🩵
Never mix friendship with business. Never. Just don't do it. It's good when it's good, but not when it's not. Not worth it. Grieving someone still alive is a whole different kinda grief and sadness.
A lot of mine were the same, being taken for granted, unsupported and judged and not taken seriously.
They seemed to think they were always in the right, only what they wanted/thought mattered.
I thought by being easy going, they would eventually compromise but of course they didn't. I found it so difficult to express anything, let alone frustrations, it just wouldn't make sense to try and vocalise, the words never came.
Make sure, they are making the effort too. It will not survive if it's one sided.

Well, I befriended almost everyone I came across. One thing I've learned is that friends are often called your second family, but in reality, they can also become your worst enemies. Sometimes the people who know you best are the ones most capable of betraying you.
My takeaway? Don't let negativity rent space in your mind, and don't live behind walls because of other people's actions. Stay open and authentic.
Yes, I experienced betrayal when I was younger. People lied, disappointed me, and broke my trust. But did that stop me from making new friends? No. Did I shut myself off and spend my life treating everyone as a potential threat? No. I'd rather risk being betrayed again than live trapped by fear and suspicion.
hug you tight dearest🥰
