@11820Read if you like to read I suggest a free website where there is books called Wattpad it's really cool and you can write if you want to aswell as pming your favorite authors and having a message board it's so much fun there! I suggest looking into it!

oh my gosh, you are so right! I really really love that! I love learning new things, love cooking, and so for me, just like you, learning new things about cooking is so much fun! It's nice to challenge myself, try new recipes, see how things turn out. Last week for cooking and learning new things went pretty well. Only one epic fail in the bunch, lol. Sounded good on paper (these brocolli cheese cups that you make in a muffin tin). If I try it again, I'll have to tweak the recipe and use cheddar instead of parmesan cheese and cook it for longer than the recommended time.
@SparkyGizmo The tweaking of the recipes are the best part I think! Finding something that really makes the recipe pop. Sometime it can be something as simple as adding a pinch of sugar or using nutmeg instead of cinnamon.
Those broccoli cheese cups sound good. Maybe toward the end of baking them you could try sprinkling parmesan on top?
Tomorrow I'm trying a new cookie. Cherry chocolate crackle cookies! They look so good in the pictures. 🤤

I agree, I think sometimes adding your own thing to a recipe can really make it so much better! Aha! You are brilliant my friend! I'm thinking you just totally fixed this recipe! So.........here is what happened, the recipe called for parm in the mix and parm on the top. Sounded great on paper, not so great as the end product. I thought adding sharp cheddar would make it more flavorful if I went to round 2 on this thing as well as extending the cooking time, this mess needed a lot more than what it called for. It also needed alot more s and p. But ta-dah.............I'm so glad you said putting the parm on top (which I did), because I cook a lot and so that gives things a nice, crunchy and dark crust on the top. I almost threw in the towel all together with the parm before you mentioned it and went for all cheddar. Oh my gosh, what was I thinking
Of course, I need to put cheddar in the mix,more s and p, but keep the parm on top as well as extend the cooking time so the interior of the cups meld with flavor and so the top will get nice and crisp if I keep the parm (but just on the top). I think because the cooking time wasn't long enough the parm never crisped. It ended up being edible, but dull. It truly was a labor of love and again, it took a while to make but ended up getting the "thumbs down". But.....*high fives* and big *hugs* thank you for saving the parm! It will live to see another day! I might mix the parm with a bit of panko bread crumbs too to make sure it crisps up? What do you think about making a parm breadcrumb mix?
@SparkyGizmo Oh definitely! That way it makes the recipe your own 🙂 Like your own secret ingredient. Yay! I'm glad I could help! *high five* I think mixing the panko with the parm would be a good idea. Sprinkle it with either a little olive oil or even butter. That should help it crisp up and turn it a nice golden color. I do that with a homemade mac&cheese recipe. It gives it a nice texture! 🙂
The cookies are delicious! They look nice too lol! They taste like brownies but the cherry pieces are a nice surprise. I think walnuts would be nice in them too or maybe even chocolate chips. Double chocolate crackle cookies! 😁

@TheFisherKing actually I did that once I made a really delicious dessert on accident! My mom and I were making croissants and I took the extra pieces and I put a strawberry inside and covered the strawberry in dough and I ended up having a melted strawberry in a nice ward bread it was a cool experiment but I don't wanna do it again though cause it was soggy but still delicious!
@Pansexua1 Oh those sound wonderful too! I keep thinking they'd be really good with some chocolate drizzled on them. Warm from the oven, maybe some ice cream too! Lol, now I'm hungry! 😋
