this is mostly an attempt to distract myself, keep busy and also a chance to get to know more people here better - im not too good at making conversation but ive seen our community growing much and i want to meet more of you bright people and be a little out of my introvert shell too if it makes sense 🥲
I’m OptimisticEmpath and many people call me Opti or Empath, some special people have special adorable nicknames for me and I love them very much because nicknames feel like someone cares about you enough to give you a little special name that they call you with 🥺🥰
im terrible at introductions but this was just a try 😭 don’t @ me if it sounds silly lmao … basically yeah you can call me with these generic ones or if you want to give a unique nickname that’s welcome too 💕
I was hoping we can make this thread fill up with fun questions … to get to know each other better! no personal questions like what’s your social media or anything ok? xD but like fun questions or thoughtful questions meaningful ones to know people better 🥰 like about their choices, experiences, opinions on different things etc
you can add a number of questions here could be random ice breaker kind or the “would you rather …?” kind too with options and anyone who comes across them can answer them!
You can also tag people here that you want to hear a reply from 💕

So my question to anyone who is interested in answering would be:
What do you think is the SINGLE most important thing people of the present world need to do for creating a better world for the next generation?
My thoughts often revolve around ideas to make a better society - and hence I'd love to hear what others think on this.
I want to change my question a little. I guess it's not okay to preach to others what they should do. The question should rather be: what is the Single most important thing YOU want to do in order to create a better world for times to come ahead... sort of like what do you want your legacy to be....

I admire the quick reflection! I have this happen sometimes too, it's like catching yourself out.
I would like to demonstrate through living the value in reasoning. You can really have fun with it, ruminate on what the absurd means. I find it fun anyway.
@cyanessence that's a really good one. There is fun in the process of reasoning things. I believe in reason for sure.. it shows you a direction to move in, builds your sense of self and allows you to engage meaningfully with others. Reasoning would involve lapses in arriving to the right answers but those lapses are worth the reward - without reasoning life would be half-lived ...
I also believe strongly in intuition- which I feel is innately there - more in some people than others - but that too is also cultivated through reasoning ...

I don't know how to reason without intuition! Is it possible? Because I've never experienced it it's hard to fathom.
@cyanessence well I'm not sure ... I don't know how to define these things exactly. Im no philosopher. But for me -- intuition is quick and reasoning is slow. That's how I differentiate the two. Like sometimes I've had my intuition tell me the right answer really quick but I haven't had words to explain the reasoning of it , and have to actively look for those arguments.... and sometimes my intuition has been clouded and it feels like walking in the dark experimenting with ideas, relying on whatever little reason i can find to hook onto....
Like when i was very llittle intuitively I knew that God was there. It wasn't imposed on me by my surroundings. But with life - i got detracked - to the point I questioned and doubted and wondered if it was just a man made thing ... and I made my way back to it through many little steps of reasoning beating the designs of ego .... and arrived once again at the place where I intuitively knew it was the truth.... that's my story.

That is a good write up. Reason slow, intuition quick. I actually came across information about how the brain has the capacity to reach conclusions without conscious effort, it can take one by surprise. I can't remember details unfortunately, but it is a curious ability.
I'm stuck on agnosticism but have been exploring spirituality. Since the passing of a dear friend though, my mind can't seem to accept that it's all over for them, and that is conflicting because I'd really like a scientific explanation for things. It's just... hard to ignore intuition sometimes.
@cyanessence yeah take your time exploring things. I think using intelligence to figure out existence of a Creator has to do with seeing the purpose of things instead of seeing it as random.

I just wish that people were more kind to each other so personally too that’s what I try always to be more kind with everyone around me and hope people leave feeling a little better after being with me or talking with me

children have lasting memories and their experiences impact their adulthood a lot too so it’s only noble to make a positive difference in the lives of children and also impacting their future in a gentle way
any ideas on how you can impact their lives?
Well my dream was to write children's books- that could entertain them and also teach them some useful lessons them about life. Unfortunately that kind of writing power hasn't come to me yet - so I'm just writing things I know of - and maybe with time I can get to writing things I'm in awe of.
Another dream was to help children stuck in poverty and war zones. But i have no ideas or means for it yet.

it’s one of the easiest way to teach them different things in life and also a great habit of reading books

oh that’s so thoughtful again… it breaks my heart to see children suffer too.. specially when they aren’t even at any fault and cannot do much to change their situation 🥺
wish there were better systems that reduced the economic disparities for the world to have collective peace or at least share the opinion that all children deserve to have a good life and upbringing …
there’s charities and donations always but wish there were more feasible means to support children in need

It’s AMAZING! There’s romance and action and just… normal people being normal people. It’s a really calming show, if you have anxiety <3 ***TW*** for abuse tho. It’s not super intense, Anne was mistreated as an orphan. But potentially triggering nonetheless. It’s also a very minor part of her story.
