What languages can you speak or are learning?
I really love learning different languages and cultures and I know a lot of other people love it, too. So, I was just curious what languages everyone can speak or what languages you want to learn.
For me, I can speak English and am learning German, Korean, Spanish, Arabic, and maybe Urdu. I know these languages may sound random for each other and a lot but I am learning one step at a time. If you want you can also say what inspired you to learn your languages.

Speak English of course, learning Spanish (b2-intermediate/conversational/fluent - and I'm Australian not American so it's less common to learn ✨️español✨️ but it's the best, and not super difficult because of similarities to English from Latin :) quiero viajar a españa algún día), and very basic português just based on my Spanish knowledge XD 😁😁😁

Nice, but the question remains what dialect of Arabic. If I learned anything it's that there are many different types of Arabic. Egyptian, Jordanian, Saudi, Kuwaiti, Lebanese, and the list goes on.

English, and I'm nearring fluency in Spanish.
I know very, very basic German and Japanese.
I also spent part of my childhood in households where profanities were often screamed in Polish and Farsi. 😅
I took Latin, but no. That language gives me a headache.

No se, pero he estudiado en Duolingo por casi tres anos. Tambien, veo algunas cosas en Espanol y hablo un poco en Espanol con mis companeros de trabajo. Puedo conversar, pero a veces cometo errores.
@Torean oohh genial!!! 😁 lo he estudiado por alrededor de 3-4 años en mi colegio :) a mi también me gusta practicar en duolingo y ver videos en español! No conozco a nadie fuera de mi clase quien habla español pero he leído algunos libros cortos para niños:)

Guau, bien hecho! Para aprender incluso sola idioma nueva es mucho trabajo.
Hace unas semanas, mi companero me pregunto "Que onda ese?" Le respondi asi: "Me siento como la vida me dio una cachetada", y el se rio. 😁 Having others around helps, but sticking with it is the important thing. Glad to hear from someone else putting the time into it!

Wow. Bro you are so cool. Is Spanish hard to learn? I think l might take it after getting through with France b/c it will greatly promote my chance of getting in to the college l wanna go.

Very cool, best wishes to you as well! I've had an easier time with Spanish than others, but I still haven't explored other languages much. The hard thing about Spanish is probably turns of phrase that bend the expected grammar rules. You feel like you're getting the hang of something, and then you find exceptions. That's part of what makes it fun though too.

@Apeatrice yes Spanish is the best, and not too dissimilar from English in pronunciation and structure. The roots of words are often the same too. The pronunciation is more simple (less sounds, one vowel will always make the same sound) and although the grammar is quite complicated it follows rules more strictly than English. (There are always exceptions though, but between French and English it shouldn't be too hard! Good luck 😁)

I can speak and write in both English and Chimese(my native language) and was trying to master French but forgo it because preparing for SAT and MECAT stuff. Think l will pick it up again 'cause 'l love linguistic.
I think the best thing abt being fluent in other language is how we can spread more love amd kindness in to the world; teach out to more people who are suffering, embrace them and understanding their inspirations and dreams. Its one of the reason why loves English so much. Lol. 💙❤️

First Thread/Forum i'm joining on 7Cups! :)
So i can semi-fluently speak English (American) and Japanese.
I did my undergrad in Japanese so thankfully it's sub-par enough that I can talk to my grandparents in Japan.
I also took Chinese since it seemd cool but i'd definitely say i'm a begginner and would love to "Relearn" again from the top.
I did try French and German but i'd say i rarely remember most of it... (I should study German since my half-siblings are german...and it'd be nice to be able to talk to them)
Honestly looking back Chinese is the only one i was enthusiastically learning and I guess it was just really different... and i met wonderful teachers that not only taught me the language but the culture, philosophy, and taught the class in a unique pedagogy. :)

That's really cool! I've always wanted to learn Chinese as well. Be honest with me, is it really hard to learn? Or is it just okay and more of finding a rhythm type of language.
@JollyRacher I'll say it's hard to learn as a native speaker, you gotta sound it right otherwise it'll mean differently, which at times could be very bad. Writing would also be a challenge due to how many strokes are required + must memorize.

English is my native language, and I've studied Spanish for a couple years. What I'd really like to learn is Arabic, but I haven't started yet!

Wow, that's great! Arabic is definitely an interesting language. Did you have any specific dialect in mind?
