Am I the Only One Who...?

Hey everyone 💚

I’ve been thinking lately about how often we feel alone in our thoughts — like no one else could possibly feel the way we do. I wanted to create a space where we can break that silence.

This is a thread where we can all finish the sentence:
👉 “Am I the only one who…”

Whether it’s something deep, awkward, random, emotional, or just super specific — share it here. Chances are, someone else will relate.

A few examples:

  • Am I the only one who feels drained after being around people, even the ones I love?

  • Am I the only one who finds it hard to celebrate my own achievements?

  • Am I the only one who overthinks literally everything?

You’re not weird. You’re not broken. You're human. 🫶

Feel free to reply to others too — a simple “me too” can make someone feel seen. 💬

Let’s be real, be kind, and remind each other that we’re not alone in how we feel. I’ll go first in the comments ⬇️

With care,
[Eman144] 🌿

Hi!  I don't know how to start this so...

Am I the only one who get anxiety over every little thing, even just sending a text message?

Am I the only one who feels like they're "faking" their problems just for attention, even when you know your not?

Am I the only one who feels like talking to their friends bothers them, or is a burden on them?

What you're describing is something a lot of people go through—more than you probably realize. That kind of anxiety, especially around communication, can feel isolating, but it's actually really common. Let me break it down a bit:

  • Anxiety over little things (like sending a text): This is a classic sign of social anxiety. Even small interactions can feel overwhelming because your brain is trying to protect you from perceived judgment or rejection—even when there’s no real danger. You're not weird or weak for feeling this.

  • Feeling like you're faking your problems: This is called impostor syndrome or sometimes invalidating your own feelings. It’s a cruel trick your brain plays, especially when you're struggling with anxiety or depression. Just because you think you're faking it doesn’t mean you are. The fact that you’re worried about that shows you care deeply about not being a burden—and that usually means you’re the opposite of one.

  • Feeling like you're bothering your friends: Again, super common with anxiety. You might worry you're “too much,” but if your friends care about you, you're not a burden to them. Real friends want to be there for you. If the roles were reversed, you’d probably be more than happy to support them—so why wouldn’t they feel the same?

It's brave of you to say all of this, even in a message like this. It matters. You matter. You're not alone in this, and you don't have to carry it by yourself.

That makes so much sense, and honestly—same. Overthinking everything is something I do all the time too. It’s exhausting, right? Even when I know something shouldn’t be a big deal, my brain just runs with it anyway.

But you’re not weird or broken for feeling that way. It just means your mind is super active and tuned into everything, maybe a little too much sometimes. You're not alone in that at all.

If you ever want to talk about it or just vent, I’m here. No pressure, no judgment—just someone who gets it.

Frequently. It's like being stuck in the middle with the only guiding light the reminder that everything will be alright.

No, you’re not the only one — not by a long shot. Feeling numb, like you're just existing without really feeling anything, is something many people go through. It can happen because of stress, depression, burnout, trauma, or even just being overwhelmed for too long. Sometimes it’s your brain’s way of protecting you when everything feels too heavy.

It doesn’t mean you’re broken, and it doesn’t mean you’ll feel this way forever. But it does mean your mind and body might be trying to tell you they’re tired — and it’s okay to listen.

If you want to talk more about what’s been going on or just let some of it out, I’m here for that.

You're definitely not the only one. A lot of people feel that exact same need sometimes — to just let it all out, raw and unfiltered. When emotions build up for too long without a release, it can feel like you’re going to explode. Screaming, crying, hitting something (safely) — those are real, human reactions to overwhelming stress, sadness, frustration, or even numbness.

You’re not alone in this. And it’s okay to feel that way.

@Eman144 Am I the only one that feels disconnected while I'm spending time with people that love me??

@NobodyKnow5

Not at all — you're definitely not the only one who feels that way. It's actually more common than you might think. You can be surrounded by people who care deeply about you and still feel distant or detached. That disconnect might come from things like:

  • Emotional exhaustion or burnout

  • Mental health struggles (like anxiety, depression, or dissociation)

  • A mismatch between your inner world and how you're able to express it

  • Unmet needs or feeling misunderstood, even if people love you

  • Difficulty being present, which can be rooted in past experiences or stress

It doesn’t mean you’re broken or ungrateful — it just means there’s something deeper going on that might need attention or reflection. Do you feel like it happens all the time or just in certain situations?

Am I the only one who is afraid of everything around me

@Willowhome01

No, you’re not the only one — not even close. So many people walk through life feeling afraid: of being hurt, of failing, of being left behind, of not being enough… or just of the world itself feeling too loud, too fast, too unpredictable.

That constant fear can feel isolating, like you’re the only one carrying it, but you're not alone in it.

Sometimes that fear is rooted in trauma. Sometimes it’s anxiety that’s grown quietly over time. Sometimes it’s from just trying to survive in a world that doesn’t always feel safe or kind. Whatever the reason — your fear is real, and it deserves compassion, not shame.

If you’re living in a constant state of fear, that’s not something you’re meant to carry forever. There is help, there are ways to feel safer, stronger, and more in control again. Talking about it is a powerful first step. Want to share more about what scares you most right now?

Am I the only one who comes on here to support people when I can't even take care of myself and my own basic hygiene and self care needs?

1 reply
User Profile: Eman144
Eman144 OP June 3rd, 2025

@Caringbear270

You're definitely not the only one. A lot of people find it easier to care for others than for themselves — it's a way of showing love, finding purpose, or just trying to feel less alone. Supporting others can feel grounding when your own life feels out of control.

But your feelings matter just as much as anyone else's. Helping people is beautiful, but you deserve that same kindness and support, too — especially from yourself. You don't have to be fully okay to offer care, but you also don’t have to do it all alone.

If you're struggling with basic self-care, that doesn’t make you weak or broken — it makes you human. You're not alone in that. 💙

Am I the only one who still has dreams about someone who's betrayed them? I don't want to think about them! It hurts every time!!

@HappySpecter

You're absolutely not the only one. Dreams have a way of dragging up pain we wish we could leave behind — especially when it's someone who hurt us deeply. Betrayal cuts close, and your brain is still trying to make sense of it, even when your heart wants to move on.

It's okay that it still hurts. That just means you cared — and healing from that kind of wound takes time. Be patient with yourself. You're not weak for remembering, you're just human. The dreams will fade, little by little. And in the meantime, you deserve peace, gentleness, and support as you keep moving forward. 💔🌙

Like… I’ll be breaking down inside, but still smiling and saying “I’m fine” because I don’t want to be a burden.

It’s exhausting trying to be strong for others, especially when no one notices that I’m struggling too.

Sometimes I wish someone would just ask, “How are you—really?” and actually mean it.

I don’t always need advice… I just want to feel seen.

I wonder if anyone else hides behind strength because they’re scared to be vulnerable.

@HealingWithAmreen

Absolutely, you're not alone in feeling this way. So many people carry silent battles behind calm faces and reassuring smiles. What you described—putting on a brave front while hurting inside—is something a lot of strong, caring individuals go through. It’s especially tough when the strength others admire in you becomes the very thing that isolates you.

Wanting someone to genuinely ask “How are you—really?” is such a human need. Not to fix things, not to give answers, but simply to be present. To listen. To see you.

And yes—many people hide behind strength because they’ve learned that vulnerability can be risky, or even dismissed. But vulnerability isn’t weakness. It’s real, and it takes courage. Sharing what you just did—that’s strength and vulnerability in one.

You don’t have to carry everything alone. Even just putting this into words is a powerful step toward being seen. If you ever need to talk more, I’m here
