I see that your join date was just yesterday and so it is disappointing to hear that this would ever happen as well as this being your first appraisal of what 7 cups might be like.

Please be rest assured that misogyny, sexism is not something that 7 cups stands for. One of our core values is that "we believe in equality".😊❤️😊 Misogynistic behaviors, comments, sexism towards women is something that will not be tolerated. I noticed that you used the word "always" even though your join date was yesterday. Hopefully you will give the rooms another chance as for my experience, these things do not "always" happen. 😊❤️

If, on a rare occurrence they do happen, I hope you see it as the product of misguided behavior and on the part of certain individuals. These people do not speak to the value system, the 7 cups belief system. These behaviors are not representative of our team or of 7 cups as a whole.

You have been given some fantastic information here in this thread! I will concur that using ones personal mute button in the rooms is a wonderful option. When doing so, a text box will open up for you to explain what happened and why you are choosing to use your personal mute button. This serves as a reporting feature as well and these are things that administration reads and reviews. 😊 Administration cares about our experiences here on 7 cups! ❤️

If you ever choose to "unmute" a teammate, while on the browser (I am uncertain of the app) there is a button that one can click on in the upper right hand corner to do so.

Taking a screen shot of the behavior and including it in the form that Obs ( @ASilentObserver ) provided is also a wonderful tool that is at your disposal. These reports too, are reviewed by administration and the behavior will be addressed. They would like to hear from you in this way and it gives administration an opportunity to help take corrective action in regard to the behavior and keep the rooms warm, safe and inclusive for us all! ❤️

7 Cups and Glen, our founder specifically, recognizes that our community is comprised of 65% female teammates (users). I just read a forum post from Glen about this a couple of weeks ago. 7 cups cares and even based on those statistics the team has created a sub community dedicated specifically geared towards women.

What you feel that you are experiencing is counter intuitive to everything that 7 cups stands for. Having said that, you are welcome here and you belong here! Hoping you will report and hoping that your situation will resolved and most quickly!

@Ninjahattorie I am sorry that some m&s comments were made in your presence and that made you feel uncomfy.

Although such comments made by members are rarely personal, considering the nature of the site and chatrooms, there is only one thing that comes to mind, that can be considered as an action to curb it.

Speaking out and reporting it.

Speakin out may not necessarily change their behavior but it sends a signal that it is not acceptable for everyone.
At the same time, it may incite anger on the commenter, probably.
In that case, it is not necessary to reply to them, as it can escalate the situation.
Mute button can be used, if situation is triggering
and finally, Reporting the behavior.
A third neutral party can be the best judge of the situation - aka - admins. They can go through your screenshots and and the conversation(s) to decide if the situation calls for action from their side.

That's all I can say. Also, it can apply to different kinds of comments, not just m&s.
