Don't know what to say..
A mind that thinks too much, overthinks heavily, and whose thoughts run nonstop..
@YenNhi
Make a habit of writing..... whatever, whenever, any thought .....just write it down...... today we don't need pen and paper.......so just note down everything and slowly things will change.
This method didn't work for me..
I am sorry to hear that. Please know that we are here to support you as you navigate through the difficult times.
@YenNhi
..and makes sleep virtual impossible some nights ...
I know what you mean.
Oh
@YenNhi
I'm used to it, learnt to just sleep when I can, working night shifts with ADHD not a good match 🤪🤪
Hmm. I'm very sleepy and want to sleep a lot, but I'm having trouble falling asleep..
@YenNhi
It's close to 6 am for me now, and I've managed no more than 2 hrs in total. I've tried mindfulness of breath, body scans, PMR, reading, quiet peaceful music all to no avail. About to call quits and get in with my day, I'll sleep later in the day if I can.
@YenNhi Uhhh, that’s tough! 😞 To me, it helps to sometimes interrupt myself: “Are these thoughts realistic?”, “do they help me?” gets me out the loop or at least I start thinking about solutions instead of just worrying all the time.
You can’t stop thinking, but you can (slowly) learn to lead your thoughts. I like to imagine fantasy worlds to distract myself 😁
Hope some of this helps 😅
Wishing you a great day 🌸✨

I started journalling shortly before I joined Cups and I've currently settled into a routine. I started to notice a difference so doubled down, I use a Notepad app on phone and if i have a persistent thought or worry note it down, some mindful breaths and try to let it go. Most morning I refer to the notes on my phone as i write a paper journal and allow time to reflect on them, action any I can. It has helped, not stopped the tendency to overthink but it does ease it sometimes, a works in progress 😄
@RunningMachine that sounds good. I journal too, but only the times when I’m not doing well 🥲😅 Sometimes it really helps, not always ofc. At least I keep track of how I’m doing, that really helped me recognise some patterns 🧐
And I agree, it takes time 🕰️
@Butterfly723389
Since Cups I've incuded gratitude, and if some members on Cups I interact with get their way it won't be long before intentions and affirmations too 😄😄
Not their yet, ADHD mind isn't easy to regulate but it is making a difference, keep at it 👍
Oh my god!! Samee I feel so annoyed by my own thoughts 😭
