Feeling hopeless.
Due to gaps in my education bevause of my parents' negligence, I fell behind and I am 23 and havent yet completed my grade 12 (A-levels). In this fast-paced technology world, I want a slow-paced job in abroad but Idk how I'll survive because I am not interested in tech science and engineering. And AI is taking over things. That scares me. I don't have a career plan. I am terrified of A-levels. I feel broken. Help me.

its totally ok to not have it all figured out yet. everyone takes their time to figure out their own path. as for your A-levels, i’m sure youll do well. study hard, lock in, focus. youll do great 🫂sending virtual hugs

I withdrew halfway through my final year of school. I was not prepared at the time. Sometimes our lives do not align with convention. Years later, I completed a year 12 equivalency program and went to university. Are there perhaps similar things available to you? I too thought I was broken and not capable of higher forms of study, but the program I completed was geared to inexperienced people like me.
I will say, I only completed a year of university. I learned a lot, but more importantly I learned about myself. I still don't have a solid career plan, but I found what makes me happy: writing. AI can potentially replace a lot of things, but there are many things it simply cannot replace.
My sister once told me: find where you fit in. Find a way to study if that is what truly pleases you. It's a great way to learn. I believe there are many ways to study, it may just take some time figuring out what to study and where.
There is no shame in taking a little longer to find yourself. Does anyone really stick to the script?
Unfortunately there are no such alternatives in my country. I come from South Asia and the foundation courses aiming to prep you for university habe limited scopes. You already have to choose your degree and do the foundation according to that and I haven't still decided on my career path or even the undeergraduate degree I want to study. I want to finish my A-levels but people say they are too hard and it's diminishing my self confidence. If I complete A-levels, I can apply for abroad which is what I want.
@querencia798 I just want to acknowledge that I'm so sorry you're going through this as a result of circumstances that are not your fault. You're not doing anything wrong by taking your time, especially given that it sounds like you had a real lack of support. I dropped out of high school (US) and later got my GED (equivalency certificate). It took me 8 years to finish a college degree that was recommended to be done in 4 (and it wasn't for what is generally considered a "socially acceptable" reason like illness or money issues, I just fell behind). My partner is 29 and got his first job last month (he's a deckhand on a ferry and he loves it). It's okay. It's absolutely valid to be worried about the future, but there are a lot more ways to live and work in this world than society wants to acknowledge. Lots of love from across the pond!
Lots of love to you too and I'd like to tell you that you are immensely brave. Keep it up. Unfortunately I don't live in the US. I come from South Asia and A-levels are the best way to go abroad. GED will be limiting for me. But I'm feeling very demotivated because people are constantly saying A-levels are hard.
Hey....it's okay not to fit in the box of the society....you need to remember you're different and unique in your own ways...as far as your career concerns take help from your friends or your professers at your school...there are many more options in modern world that look good for you..not only tech science and stuff....you've got this....✨️✨️✨️
