We all feel low at some point in our journey of life. When you are feeling low what do you do to fill your cup?

@SmileyRainbow

I give back to myself! I do self-care, be it my favorite blend of drink, or touching up my appearance and freshening myself up. I recently dyed my hair and making little "upgrades" like that is a cup filler. I also check up on people who naturally re-energize me. Love is a universal fuel. <3

@SmileyRainbow im always feeling low.. I got a haircut few days back. It made me feel good. Generally speaking.... shower and clean clothes give me a sense of stability.

@SmileyRainbow

i also feel more “whole” when I do my hair and put a bit of makeup on. I bought a dress at the thrift store the other day and felt like a new person. For some reason earrings always make me feel fancy.

I like doing crafts. When I start a project and complete it, that’s a win.

Interactions on cups typically make me smile too! 💛

What a fantastic question!
I like to connect a friend or family member,
do some self-care such as crocheting, drawing, listening to audio books
or just going into nature to listen to the sounds.

Hi H! 😊 ❤️

Many thanks for the tag my sweet friend! ❤️ You're pretty darn cool yourself! You are part of my "tribe".

I liked hearing your self care options. I enjoy those as well. "Love is a universal fuel" is a fantastic quotable quote and is my mantra for the day!

*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️

Hi Smiley! 😊 ❤️

Many thanks for your fantastic forum post! 😊 ❤️ I do a variety of different things in an effort to fill up my own cup as it's really hard to fill up the cups of others, if your "well" has completely run dry.

Glen's post on pronora (sp?) is a good read and for me it's kind of a life style, a mindset. I guess I see having that kind of mindset as preventative maintenance and I'm just glad that I have a word for it now! 😊

I practice what I call "gratitude moments" on the daily.  I'm grateful for what it is that I have, people in my life and great experiences with them.

I try to see challenges as opportunities. I can see things as a learning experience, an opportunity for growth and opportunities to reframe the situation. I look for the positive and see positive moments as a gift 🎁. I ask myself "what is it that I am attending to" and do my best effort to keep myself in check. I'd rather think that the Universe is conspiring for me as opposed to against me.

Some of my fave self care activities are taking a hot bath, lighting a richly scented candle, stepping outside to be a part of nature. It feels good to breathe fresh air, feel the wind in my hair, sunshine on my face, to see all of God's little creatures.

I have gratitude for the birds that come to visit, the squirrels, the bunnies, frogs, deer and even a small bear cub a few weeks ago! In those moments I see it as "this was no accident". When the universe speaks, I listen. They are there for me and I am there for them too. They visit me for a reason and they stick around for reasons too. It's an amazing moment to simply sit quietly, to see a butterfly and extend your finger and wait...to have that butterfly land on your finger in complete trust. If that isn't validation, then I don't know what is. Animals just somehow instinctively know who is safe for them.

While it might sound odd, having a conversation with a bird that sits 4 inches away from you and doesn't fly away, a squirrel that comes so close that well.....rule of thumb, if it has teeth then it bites and time to go inside as 6 inches might not be so good for me as animals can be reactive and get confused, a frog that comes to visit you and often or Ralph (bunny that enjoys my yard) and recently got married as he has brought his new bride to my yard too, can fill up my cup and immensely. Just a me thing.

I enjoy reading, I like to cook and those can be part of self care. Hobbies I enjoy, beautifying my home as I have an interest in interior design, organizing with an intentionality for organized space, organized mind is helpful.

Creating my own traditions has been monumental for me. Good things to look forward to whether it be cooking Chili on Halloween night, watching the "Wizard of Oz" around Thanksgiving, watching the "Ten Commandments" a week before Easter, Christmas movies before and during Christmas as well as decorating my house for Christmas and really early so that once it's Thanksgiving day, it's my time to enjoy my home and the good people that I have in my life. Decorations are up, lots of gifts already wrapped and under the tree and simply enjoying a good meal and being grateful. Less stress and focusing on what is truly meaningful.

Knowing who is real and who isn't. Having good people in your life that are tried and true, trustworthy, people that are vibrating on your same frequency can be a game changer when your well runs dry. They aren't there for "emotional dumping" and no one should be used for that. People of good character and they know yours inside and out. You can vent, you can share, they know you and what you are made of so validating your feelings about your painful moment is quite easy. It's amazing to have someone hear you out, help you when you need it the most, pick you up, dust you off and help to put your "head back in the game". Even better if you can be there for them as well! Their personal core values are intact and their moral compass is not broken....such a gift! 😇

And laugh a little, sing a little and play a little each day. For anyone that is interested, on deck for me today is "The Lonely Goat Herd" from The Sound of Music. I love the song, I love the movie, I love the vid (youtube) and it makes me smile. I will be laughing at myself while I yodel along with. Sorry neighbors, today will be Yodel day for me. They can practice too if they like 😁 while I get some work done.

*high fives* 😊 *hugs* ❤️ and as always, Weeeeeeeeeee-weeeeeeeeee! 😊
