Healing is not always about doing something big every day
Some days, it feels like I’m not making any progress at all. like I’m just existing and barely getting by. But even on those days, I remind myself that I am still healing.
Sometimes healing looks like just getting through the day, or even allowing myself to rest when I feel overwhelmed. It’s easy to think that if we’re not constantly busy, we’re not doing enough, but healing doesn’t work that way. It’s messy, slow, and comes in waves.
Even the smallest moments count. whether it’s taking a break when I need it, giving myself the space to feel my emotions without judgment, or simply being kind to myself when I’m struggling. The journey to healing isn’t about being perfect or doing everything right; it’s about showing up for yourself, even when it feels hard.
So, if you’re having a day where you don’t feel like you’ve accomplished much, know that you’re still moving forward. Every step, no matter how small, is part of your progress.

Sooooo well said, feels as comforting and validating as a warm embrace! 💛
Indeed, a big part is just showing up, anyhow we do, and that counts. I am super proud of youuuu! 🌻 Keep going.

@Priscella i feel that way a lot lately. I have agoraphobia and i'm a uni student, so you can image the ironic hardship seeing students everyday.. just leaving the dorm is hard. I feel like it's so much i want to say, i want to express myself to fellow students and professors and be confident when presentations happen and confidently answer a question and share myself with others but it's an emotional roller coaster and physically very problematic. it's a burden to carry but i appreciate your post, it helps to know im not alone!
@Priscella
Thank you Priscella. I need to remind myself of this more often. I am often too hard on myself and see myself as less when I can’t achieve something.
I am trying hard to remove the word failure from my vocabulary or change its perception. Failure is seen by many as bad but I am trying to turn that around. When i fail, then it is a consequence of the fact that I tried and that is positive. Also I am trying to reframe failure to mean something that I didn’t expect.
Hopefully this can help me feel better about situations in my life that happen as a result of living with a chronic illness.
