@Batmanswife88

Hello

Actually I try to understand my action that lead to that guilt then try to make promise to not make it again. And try to correct it and  ask god for forgiveness and also learn how to forgive myself

Hmmm...i get at peace with the fact that I did this. I am not the best person that exists. Still I am not a bad person either. Hence I get at peace with my Guilt 🙂

@Batmanswife88 That’s such a heavy feeling to carry. 💔 Guilt can be really overwhelming, especially when it feels constant. What helps some people is taking a moment to ask: Where is this guilt coming from? Is it tied to something you can make amends for? Or is it guilt you're carrying from things that are out of your control?

Being kind to yourself is so important. You're allowed to be human, to grow, to make mistakes. Guilt can sometimes be a sign of your deep care and compassion,  but you don’t deserve to live trapped in it.

It might help to talk it out, write it down, or even forgive yourself, slowly, one step at a time. You don’t have to carry it alone. 💛

Would you like to talk more about what kind of guilt you’ve been feeling?

It depends. Worst case scenario, i speak to a friend, vent, open up, and over time it goes away.

It also depends on context. If i can still act, then I won't just stop thinking about it and usually do something idiotic like writing an apology letter or thinknof doing something grand, partially to seek acknowledgment of my own guilt and maybe to be forgiven, partially because i genuinely want to help or fix what i broke.

If too much time passed, then i usually just vent and get over with it over time.

Wanna vent? I'm open to talk if you are as well.

@Batmanswife88 I am struggling with this too, or at least something similar. I can’t stop my mind wandering to regret over past decisions I’ve made. I did what I thought was right at the time, but knowing that doesn’t seem to bring me peace. I’m just very unhappy with where I am in life right now, and I wish I’d known better then. I try to tell myself some things can get better, but other things just can’t, like leaving my kids’ father and making them have 2 families.

I have a lot of anxiety about making any decisions now, as I’m terrified of making things worse for myself. I feel like I can’t trust my own judgment, I overthink everything.

I think it's important to first determine whether we're actually talking about guilt. Best I understand it, Guilt is feeling bad over something specific you've done. Unless you're constantly messing up, it is very odd to feel constant guilt.

The other option is Shame, which is feeling bad about your very being. If it is Shame you're feeling then one must ask - who says that you should feel bad about who you are?

I deal with a serious guilt complex. A big part of my mental ilness is centered around being a bad person. I'm much better than I use to be but its difficult feeling wrong.

Self compassion, meditation therapy have helped tho

I used to overthink and feel miserable earlier

But I feel that the very fact we feel sad about something is because we did not intend it.

So nowadays I just understand what went wrong and I think that I know for sure that it won't happen again.

At the same time I try to make an effort to heal whoever has been hurt.

Sometimes it may happen that the other person will make you feel that he has been hurt a lot, but once you've forgiven yourself it's important to let the sadness be your guide and not let guilt enslave you.

Love all and yourself too

Be your most loving guide because only you truly know you and your heart

God bless
