So⊠**how are you feeling today?**đ
@Eman144 Overwhelmed and under supported as per usual.
Broke as in money and broke as in spirit.
I'm a bird in a cage. People tell me how strong I am, but that's like congratulating a prisoner for not escaping jail. I'm here, life is what it is, and there's nothing I can do about it except keep doing what I'm doing... and it isn't enough, and it's too much all at once.
@PointlessExercisesOnceAgain
Thatâs such a powerful way to describe how youâre feeling and honestly, heartbreaking. I hear you. Itâs not fair to be stuck in a cycle where youâre giving everything and still feel like itâs never enough. I wonât pretend to have a fix, but Iâm here, and I care. You shouldnât have to carry all of this alone.
Exhausted, overwhelmed, tired and frustrated
@Eman144
Tired. So tired. I donât know what to do. Iâm homeschooled. Have no friends. Itâs self passed and I donât feel like doing it. I feel like I canât breathe. I have to take care of my two younger siblings, while my three older siblings are out, working. My dads out working, and my moms a stay at home mom. But I am their second parent, itâs annoying and frustrating. I love them but I need a break too. But that break never comes. I hate it. Iâm lost. My parents have expectations for me, and Iâm struggling to meet them, but I do meet them every time, they only see when Iâm meeting them, and get mad, that Iâm not trying to be above them, they donât see when I struggle to meet them. Itâs rough.
@ImTiredTheresNoPoint
Thank you for sharing that. What youâre feeling is valid, and it makes sense. Youâre under an incredible amount of pressure being homeschooled, isolated, responsible for younger siblings, and trying to live up to high expectations with barely any recognition for the effort it takes just to keep up.
Youâre not just tired youâre burnt out, emotionally and physically. Youâre in a role that asks too much of you for your age, and youâre giving so much of yourself without enough rest, support, or appreciation in return. Itâs no wonder you feel like you canât breathe.
Hereâs what I want to tell you clearly: you are not weak for feeling this way. Youâre strong for carrying this much for so long.
But no one no matter how strong can keep running on empty.
You need space to just be a person, not a caretaker, not a student, not the one who always holds it together. Itâs okay to want that. Itâs okay to need that. And it doesnât mean you donât love your family. It means youâre human.
Would it feel okay to talk to your mom about some of this? Maybe even writing it down if speaking it feels too hard? She might not fully realize the pressure youâre under because you are meeting expectations. People often miss the silent parts of someoneâs struggle especially when theyâre doing âwell.â
Or if thatâs not something you feel safe or ready to do, we can talk more here vent, sort things out, maybe figure out some small ways to give yourself a little space or relief, even if just mentally at first.
You deserve rest. You deserve support. And you are not alone in this. Iâm here.
@Eman144
Thank you for responding, I canât talk to my parents, I just canât. Theyâre not American parents, theyâre Arab, and itâs not ok to speak up to your parents. Even if Iâm just talking to them, they will turn it around and act like Iâm speaking up and being disrespectful. Itâs an unknown fact in the Arab world. Thank you though, Iâll, Iâll see how it goes.
Anxious and edgy this morning.
Gotta head into the office and then doctors for some results this afternoon
@braindamag3
That sounds like a tough day ahead no wonder you're feeling anxious and on edge. Waiting for results can really mess with your head, even if you try not to let it.
Heading into the office first probably doesnât help either. If thereâs anything small you can do to ground yourself this morning deep breaths, a favorite song on the way, even a few quiet minutes alone it might take a little edge off.
Youâve got this, even if it doesnât feel like it right now. One step at a time. Want me to check in with you after the doctorâs appointment?
@Eman144
Aging sucks đÂ
My issues are in my left knee, had x-rays and ultrasound done a couple of weeks ago
They found mild arthritis, a bakers cyst and Meniscus tear. I will need therapy for my knee.
And to top it off my doctor noticed a growth on my left eye, called pterygium. Not affecting my sight now but if left unattended, it could continue to grow. đ„ŽÂ
@braindamag3
Ugh, that does sound like a tough combo â definitely not the kind of news anyone wants to get. đ
Mild arthritis, a Baker's cyst and a meniscus tear all in the same knee? Thatâs a lot going on in one joint. Good that youâre starting therapy though â hopefully it helps manage the pain and avoid more serious intervention.
And the pterygium on top of it all... yikes. Even if itâs not messing with your vision now, itâs no fun having to keep an eye on something like that (pun totally unintentional but now weâre here đ ).
Getting older can be frustrating when the body starts throwing curveballs like this â but youâre clearly being proactive, and thatâs huge. One step at a time (literally and figuratively). Let me know if you want help looking into options or ideas for knee therapy or managing the eye issue.
I'm feeling too lonely and instead of getting better I'm too much worried that what if my family too feels it.. Cuz this makes me so empty but trying to connect to them makes me more lonely cuz I'm not able to.. I becoming empty day by day I'm getting disconnected from everyone.. This is eating me up gradually and I'm used to it .. It hurts me but I don't try to loose it cuz it's safer than lettint someone in and getting hurt again and even if u try I do things that ppl in start only go away and infact by all my negativity even visible on my face no one wants to be with me or talk to me..
@braveSpruce7209
I'm really sorry you're feeling this way. What you're describing is incredibly painful, and it takes a lot of courage to put it into words â even here. It sounds like you're carrying a heavy mix of loneliness, fear, and self-protection. When youâve been hurt before, building walls can feel like the only safe thing to do. And it makes sense: if connection brought pain once, why risk it again?
But hereâs the hard part â the same walls that keep pain out can also keep comfort, love, and understanding away. Youâre not wrong for wanting to protect yourself. But isolation isnât safety; itâs just a slower kind of pain, and I hear that it's wearing you down.
About your family â your worry about them possibly feeling the same way shows how deeply you care. That empathy is not emptiness. Itâs part of your strength, even if you don't feel it right now.
And the idea that people pull away from you because of your "negativity"? Thatâs not a flaw in you â itâs a sign of your hurt trying to show itself. People who matter, people who care, wonât run from that â but it does take time to find them, and you do deserve to find them. Youâre not too much. Youâre not too broken. Youâre human and youâre hurting, and thatâs something no one should have to face alone.
If you can â please consider reaching out to a therapist or counselor. Not because youâre weak, but because youâve been strong for too long on your own. Even talking to a support group or a single trusted person can be a start. You donât have to fix everything overnight. You just have to start by not hiding your pain from yourself.
And even if it feels small â reaching out here is a step. Iâm still here if you need to talk more.
@Eman144
ð§¥Thnxs a lot for being kind.
I don't think so things will get better I don't believe in bright or bright future anymore.. I've tried therapy it didn't worked out for me I'm still in this situation and friends no I don't have and being here maybe I'm making myself more empty but I'm trying to get out of it..
@braveSpruce7209
𫶠Thnxs a lot for being kind.
Honestly, I donât really think things will get better⊠Iâve stopped believing in a bright future. Iâve tried therapy before, but it didnât really help â Iâm still stuck in the same place. And friends? I donât really have any. Being here sometimes just makes me feel more empty⊠but Iâm still trying. Still hoping to find a way out, even if it feels impossible right now.
@Eman144 Not feeling amazing, a lot of resurfacing things during stressful times.Â
Iâm trying to figure things out right now.
@Strawbarry
That makes a lot of sense. Stress has a way of dragging old pain back to the surface â even things you thought were long buried. It can feel overwhelming, like you're fighting battles on multiple fronts: the stress of the present and the weight of the past.
Trying to figure things out while all of that is happening is incredibly tough, but it also shows that you havenât given up. That matters. Even when things feel unclear or heavy, the fact that youâre still trying says more about your strength than you probably give yourself credit for.
If you ever want to talk more about whatâs resurfacing or what youâre trying to sort through, Iâm here. No pressure, no fixing â just space to be honest.
@Eman144
Angry - with people who "abandon" you at your worst making you feel completely alone in the toughest thing you've had to deal with.
@Eman144 Hatred us always slef hatred and there's always something suicidal about it.
@lonelysoul2345
That's a powerful and insightful observation. Hatred often reflects unresolved inner turmoilâit can be a projection of self-loathing, pain, or fear onto others. The "something suicidal" about it suggests that in trying to destroy the object of hatred, a person also damages themselvesâmorally, emotionally, or even physically. It's a self-consuming fire. Would you like help expanding this into a deeper reflection or using it in a piece of writing?
Today, I felt exhausted and had no motivation for school. Tomorrow, we'll have classes. My mother threatens me (verbally and physically) just to go to school. That's why I'm afraid for tomorrow. I already experienced that years ago. It's not always for her to physically hurt me. She'll just say I'm useless in 90 different languages. However, I can't say anything to them because they won't listen at all. They would just tell me that "I'm too dramatic, lazy, and useless, and it's just a small problem." They would scream at me rather than listen to me. In school, I would just be worse if I went there. I don't really want to meet with other people, force myself to listen even if I can't focus, or pretend I'm alright. Plus, communicating. It'll be draining for me. That's why I'm afraid of what will happen in the next hours. Sorry for this, I just feels like I'm stuck and I still care for my parents.
@zamirre
You donât need to apologizeâwhat youâre feeling is real, and it makes sense given everything youâre going through. It takes courage to share this, especially when it feels like no one around you is truly listening.
What you describedâbeing threatened, insulted, and physically or verbally harmed by someone whoâs supposed to protect and care for youâis not okay. Even if itâs been happening for a long time, that doesnât make it normal or acceptable. Youâre not dramatic or lazy for feeling hurt, scared, or tired. Youâre reacting like any human would when theyâre constantly put down and under pressure. And when people are forced into situations that make them feel unsafe, unsupported, or like they have to constantly pretend, that can be emotionally exhausting.
It also shows how deeply you careâabout your future, about your parents even when they hurt you, and about trying to make things work even when they feel impossible. Thatâs not weakness. Thatâs strength.
You mentioned being afraid of what might happen soonâif youâre in danger or feel unsafe at home, you deserve help and protection. You do have the right to feel safe. If there's a trusted adult at school (a counselor, teacher, or nurse) who might listen, I encourage you to try reaching outâeven if itâs just one sentence or message to start. If your country has a child protection line or mental health support service, you might consider contacting themâthey're there for people exactly in your situation, and you're not a burden for asking.
And if you want, I can help you draft a message to a teacher, counselor, or support organizationâsomething you can send when you're ready, so you're not alone in it.
You are not useless. You're not overreacting. You're someone who deserves to be safe, respected, and supportedâalways.
