How can I ever forgive myself for losing my ex and best friend?

It's my fault the relationship ended. I stopped putting effort in and got too comfortable with the basics. Now she's gone and is already speaking to someone new. And it's all because of me. She said she wish I was the one who gave her that but I didn't and she gave up waiting. I will never forgive myself for losing the best thing that ever happened to me.

@rationalBeechwood8031

you know now..... but cannot change it.  I think life gives us lessons   some things we find when time is left to change course .... some we only get clarity and knowledge when it is no longer able to help us.

you forgive yourself knowing you could or would do better next time but you can not force a do-over with ex .....

Try to reach out,be understanding but if you can’t take time for yourself, try to keep yourself active so you don’t linger on bad feels

I've started going for morning runs to get me out the house, I might book a movie to go watch and go by myself..

@rationalBeechwood8031, you are still in feelings, and this is the perilous phase. Don't jump to conclusions for now, whose fault it was, or things she made you feel while going. Wait for those feelings to lower or settle down to observe what really happened and on what aspect or things you need to work on or improve. (Believe me, when clarity hits, things will look a whole different)

Don't blame yourself for being human, you will end up shaming your whole existence. Relationships are a two-way street and it usually isn't just one person's fault. Forgive yourself for not knowing any better but at least you showed up when you could. Sit with the pain because that pain means you truly loved. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

I can understand what you must be going right now but don't blame yourself for things that happened. .. maybe God has a different plan for you and things were never meant to be at the first place. If she really wanted she would have stick by you no matter what... Takecare of yourself. . I know it's hard but you can come out of it if you try ...sooner the better 🤗. Stay strong 💪

Hey, Are you okay?

It's fine dude. Things happen. You realised your mistake and that's what matters. Do you believe in destiny? What's meant to be will happen eventually. Let's just hope for the best in future and let go the past. I mean ofcourse if you loved her it would be so tough to see her with someone new but if she is truly happy then let her be and focus on yourself. You would do well.

I wish you well.

I'm really struggling at the moment to be honest, all I can think is how they're going to be like how me and her were at the beginning (hugs, kisses, snuggles, spooning, holding hands, the passion) she recently started working out too and she looks better than ever :(

Losing someone you care about is hard especially when they are the one that got away. Its normal to blame yourself because you start to feel like your could had done things differently or you wished that we had a opportunity to do things differently. Things have a way of working out for us but try not to be to hard on yourself and take into consideration what she had to say.

Yep I understand this. I miss my best friend because of me. I tried to make the first move but got rejected. I feel so bad for doing it. I really wish I never admitted my feelings for her. I am a girl

Hey @rationalbeechwood8031 take it easy buddy! I am in exact same situation and the guilt is killing me. She was the love of my life and I wronged her a lot, those will be done tough days I won't lie to you but you did well by reaching out. Talk to your friends or someone just let her go, if it's meant to be it's meant to be but the conclusion is to not choose someone that didn't choose you. Wish her happiness and work on yourself, it's sad and tough and the waves of memories will attack your brain with visuals and what ifs and the jealousy will be so difficult it's never easy but just let her go hopefully we both find ourselves in a better place and accept ourselves
