I got fired
I got fired today from a simple lunch lady job. I was told that I was out too many days and other things are the reason. They give people sick leave but don't say that if you use it, you'll be fired. I told them I was sick, they said "I hear you." I asked specifically what else I did wrong. They shook their heads yes.
Now I have a big problem. I wanted to move away from here to get away from the neighbor who is harrassing me, but apartments want to see proof of your income. I no longer have a damn income. and that means I have to live off of my savings.
I can't believe I got fired from this simple ***, low level job.
If it wasn't for my cat Chloe, I wouldn't be around anymore. I can't stand this feeling of desperation to survive. It is sickening.

It's tough to deal with being fired. Especially when it feels like it was unjustified. Whenever things like this happen, it's nice to remind yourself this is a setback and not a permanent situation. <3

@innateJoy9602 I don't have the advice of wisdom because I'm just a kid... but I know life is tough right now, but you have to remember that there is no light without dark, no warm without cold. The world we live in is made to be challenging and continuously oppose us, we can't always feel pleasant, but we have to learn and adapt to find comfort in the dark. You can do it. I do know that you're strong enough to get through it, because life doesn't throw on what you can't carry. You're loved so much by so many people, and you will make it out.

I am sorry you had to deal with this, I believe sometimes tough times are the gateway to even better times than before no, they shake us away from our comfort zone only to make us land at a higher than previous position no, from every perspective, health, environment, mentality, networks and everything about us from around us.

is it legal to fire people for using offered sick leave and family leave?

I wondered the same thing. Even if it isn't legal, I can't afford a lawyer. That is what they know and why they do such things.
