I just want to feel accepted somewhere anywhere
I've never had a family or a chance to communicate and make friends till I was rescued when I was 18 years old. My communication skills are very limited. I'm not good with conversation and understanding things. So I found humour. I find people always need a little humour to help feel better about themselves. But I'm not sure if people actually know who I am or if anyone likes me. I've given up on the need to feel loved it cared for. But being accepted would be nice. I don't leave the care home where I live because I don't look normal and I don't want to get hurt. I'm not sure what I'm saying. I just want to know that maybe someone, never mind
You are amazing and one day you will have your paintings in a gallery and they will sell for millions you are a true inspiration so keep up the painting

Your post immediately stuck out to me because I feel the same way. It seems as though whenever I do try to talk about it people make it seem as though you are ungrateful for those who you do have in ones life. But these relationships feel forced and fake. It feel as though you have to put on a mask to entertain these relationships. I think the best course of action is to find groups and people alike you can talk to. You're not wrong for expressing how you feel and if this is a safe space for you to put that out there then continue to go to that safe space and open up. If you ever need someone to chat with please feel to reach out. We need people we can talk to understand us and i hundred percent understand you. Our story of what made us feel this way is often not seen as bad or they think your over exaggerating and it just makes you want to stay in a place of silence.
Hello @Tinywhisper11
I'm not sure what i'm going say will be fitting in your situation but i'll go anyways
If someone approaches me, i'm all good to go. I can talk and listen to them for hours but i do have difficulty approaching others. So I went for a general counselling and their my counselor said that its okay to be the lone wolf or be the black sheep in the family. Its not like i've to approach someone, i can be the outstanding one in the crowd that others would be approaching me and that's what i liked about it. Everyone's different and its okay to be that way as far as we're comfortable with ourselves.
She also shared a story about her friend who is now 31 years old and still unmarried (i know there's nothing wrong being unmarried at the age of 31 but its just our society). When she was younger she was told that if she'll study well, she'll have the lines of suitors waiting to marry her and now she don't even know a single guy. Her parents were forcing of her and she just let go off everything. Now she's taking a baby steps to tackle these stuffs. She goes out to walk or sit in a restaurant or a park where there're many people around. If the place is packed, she ask stranger if she could sit there and when someone approach her, she talks to them as well.
And lastly, what i wanna say is that you're beautiful the way you're and i understand your wants to be able to fit in somewhere and i hope you get the right people to fit in with. Changing yourselves for some other people isn't the right way to fit in. Everyone's different and there're people who would love the way you're and accept your differences. If you ever feel like talking to anyone, you can also leave me a message and i'll check it whenever i'm available.
Keep smiling, you beautiful soul!

It's not easy to open up and share your thoughts and feelings, especially if you've had a difficult past. It's courageous of you to express your concerns, and I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to share them with us here on 7 cups.
Feeling isolated and unsure of how to communicate can be challenging, but it's important to remember that you are not alone in this. Many people struggle with social interactions and forming connections, and it's okay to take time to develop these skills.
It's great that you've found humor as a way to connect with others. Making people feel good about themselves is a wonderful gift, and I'm sure it's appreciated more than you know.
You have a unique perspective and personality that deserves to be appreciated, and I encourage you to keep being yourself. If you ever need someone to talk to, we have many good Volunteer Listeners that can listen along with many communities/sub-communites & sharing circle sessions to join in at your convenience.
Remember that you matter, and you are deserving of love and acceptance. Have a great weekend!
