Hi guys

I’ve been in a relationship for 6 months & these have honestly been the best 6 months of my life. I have gotten everything I wanted in a partner but the only problem is that my partner has not been getting everything she wants. She says that my problems that I face is a little overwhelming. I’m not a good listener or responder. I don’t listen very well but if I do get it & listen my responses are terrible & it’s always feeling like she has to constantly battle with me about her feelings. Sometimes I feel as if I’ve drained all the life out of her & now our relationship seems as if it’s coming to an end because she can’t be my girlfriend, therapist, best friend all in one. So now im just seeking help I’m financially struggling so I can’t afford a therapist but I’m just hoping someone has insight on what I should or how I could go about receiving help.

Thank you for your time. I appreciate you.

If you can’t afford couples therapy continue posting here and I’m sure others will be able to help you and give you advice on what to do and stuff give her eye contact and tell her how you truly feel and be honest and don’t lie and mention

“it’s hard for me sometimes or all the time to listen it’s not my fault and I need you to understand that and I love you and want us to be together for a long time’ that’s something you can say to her. you can include anything else “I don’t want you feeling like I’m draining you as I want to bring you more to life and enjoy life with you as a couple and set aside our differences” also communication is very hard but takes constant work. I’ve been married 8.5 years together 9.5 pretty much and been through ups and downs and em gal health still working on some of that. Talk with someone who has been in a relationship a while even longer than me and they can help you with responses and how to respond on your own as well just be honest truthful open and emotionally available and gentle and treat her best you can as a queen and value her as a person and respect each other and talk through things kinda like being married but without the rings and everything work things out and stick together if you truly love her. Write her letters as I can detail things better on paper than I can talk to someone. Can you make little gifts they mean more than anything and show your appreciation and love etc? I’m a lady and this is what I would want and not sure what she wants from you probably to be honest and truthful and she wants to be heard!! Put your phone down game controller down and give her your undivided attention and tell her best you can how you feel and help her and don’t have her be your therapist that’s not for a partner but don’t mistake that for not communicating with her about relationship things and those things. I’m not a normal person but I am a lady and that’s what I would want and even if things are a bit hard that’s when I personally give them to God and I know you may or may not believe in him but the good times will come soon I promise as they come for everyone going through hard times sooner or later. You can even ask her and see if I’m right and also don’t think you’re right all the time or about a lot of things because that only starts arguments and doesn’t bring happiness. Ladies are mostly right as we aren’t right all the time either but like to be listened to the best we can, like to be heard and feel like our feelings are valid, want to be understood, comforted, supported, protected, nurtured to the best of ones ability as a human and want a trustworthy honest loyal faithful companion who does his best to make her feel loved and cared for and most needs are met. We want to be emotionally supported one who isn’t available emotionally isn’t a real good candidate. Sorry it’s long but I believe I’m pretty much right here. Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not a professional or therapist counselor but I do know what ladies mostly want because I’ve experienced what they don’t want and now what they do want from my husband. Exes have treated me poorly.

@niesa722 I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through this! Please remember to take it easy on your girlfriend as others have already pointed out, but simultaneously take it easy on yourself if you can. Do not forget that you are human too! Your emotions and problems are valid and although they may seem to be overwhelming as of current, I'm sure better times are ahead of you. Keep fighting and update us on how the situation progresses - we're all here for you!

Hi....do u also feel the same.....?Do u agree to what she says.......I mean do u think u r not a good listener and u r unable to respond her nicely.......if u realize this....u can try to make little changes in yourself........When she speaks to u ....listen to her carefully....support her emotionally and try to make your communication better with her.....
