Is it wrong for me to cut off from my family?
I'm invisible in the family. I have been growing up became perfectionist to get attention and praises. Don't get me wrong. I love my family. But each passing days and the more I'm growing up, the more pressure that I got.
I have already plan everything. I feel like this time I should brave myself and be selfish for my own good. My mental health is getting worse and it has been affecting my body too.
@yuragalen no
I don't believe in parent pleasing. I think one has to find values they truly believe in and stick to those. Is it possible to live within your family unit but change how you react to others? Cutting off might be a bit drastic but you know best of your situation.

The most healthy thing i ever did for me was walk away from toxic family ... or family that wanted to pretend i was something i am not....
it is OK only marketing or people too afraid to make a break that tell you .... you can't they are family.
i worked with people like that each holiday was talking about all the plans and issues so whole family could gather...... they would stress themselves to the end ......... the week AFTER only heard about how they always hated so and so and can you believe they did this or that and what a horrible time ..... i sit at my desk laughing at their own self inflicted emotional wounds.
I empathize because I feel the same way, but now I would say that my perfectionist ways hurt myself. You can't make everyone happy. But you can make yourself happy. One thing you can do is be a bit selfish. There's nothing wrong with that. To be even the tiniest bit selfish is to exist. Living everyone's happiness is going to make you lie to yourself, doubt yourself, and prevent you from experiencing the things you want to experience. Even though I haven't found that balance of making myself happy and helping others feel better doesn't mean you can't.
I can tell you are under much stress my friend.
I have alot going on over here too, I just wish all the diagnosis would go away, all the gossip of what I got would cease.
Let your plans expand to great measure, let our worries of diagnosis be no more and let us live great large lives.
Remember that family is important and they are still there for you, to me they are everywhere.
This is the time for great giving and true happiness let the others admit their affections and other things too because it's truth.
