I just honestly and truly don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m trying to get back into the work routine after a major surgery.

I can only handle so much at once.

My daughter is upset with me and said some VERY hurtful statements. That tore me down on another level and brought me back to a place I haven’t been in a while. I think I would have rather her punched me.

I went to bed last night listening to sad music and feeling sorry for myself.

Today I woke up consumed with nervousness and anxiety.

I called work and told them I’d be late, then called back and said I’m feeling unwell and can’t make it in, after I should’ve already been there.

So now I’m spinning in that.

I wish I could say I’m doing my best but I don’t know that I am…….

@peachThinker662

Take a deep breath.

Maybe you change what you are listening to and play something a little more uplifting?

If you're feeling this anxious about work, is it really what you want to be doing in life? Is there something else you would rather do that would make you feel better about yourself?

Is there something you can do with your daughter to change the dynamics?

@braindamag3

i knew when I was listening to nine inch nails it wasn’t a good thing. I just got into a funk. I know I needed uplifting music but I just wasn’t in the mind set for It.

I’m trying hard to figure out the work situation. I went yesterday. But I think my body is only able to handle so much stress at a time. And the conflict with her wasn’t helping matters. We have spoke, not resolved but feels lighter.

With work —-I have fear of failure, the vulnerability of trusting people there and opening up a bit, not able to keep up like I used to. Which I think I was in overdrive all the time anyways…

I hear how heavy things feel for you right now. Recovering from surgery while juggling work and family is a lot, and it makes sense you’re feeling overwhelmed. Please be gentle with yourself—you’re carrying more than most people realize.

@peachThinker662 You had major surgery. It can take time to bounce back from something like that. It can take time to get back into the swing of things. You're almost there!

Sometimes life really knocks us for a loop and others don't see the effort it takes us to pick ourselves back up. They get angry and upset and say things they shouldn't. Our doubts start voicing their opinions and we begin to question everything we do. Can you talk with your daughter? Maybe tell her how much her words hurt and why? I understand if you can't or rather wouldn't.

Just, try not to let your daughter or her words take the progress you've made away. Because you have made progress! ❤️

“Sometimes life really knocks us for a loop and others don't see the effort it takes us to pick ourselves back up. They get angry and upset and say things they shouldn't. Our doubts start voicing their opinions and we begin to question everything we do” THIS IS EVERYTHING

 How do I rest when my thoughts are spinning. I did reach out to her and she got back to me. I don’t think everything is resolved by any means but at least I heard from her.

I’m trying, it’s just An added stress that idk how to handle anymore. I used to juggle EVERYTHING …

@peachThinker662 For me, what helps is to first slow down my breathing. Maybe try some box breathing? From there maybe try grounding. 333 (my favorite) Name 3 things you can see, 3 things you can hear and move 3 body parts. You could listen to a guided meditation. Focus on the voice and keeping your breathing calm. Go for a walk and focus on the things around you or maybe play some simple app games on your phone. You can challenge the thoughts by reframing them. All of these can take practice though and if something doesn't work, that's alright! There are always other things to try.

Sometimes it can take just one thing to set everything on edge. We can only handle so much. This is a new situation for you. You're post op, trying to get back to work, struggling with anxiety about it and probably a bunch of other things. You reached out to her and while it might not be fully resolved the first steps have been taken. That is awesome all on it's own ❤️

Things will get better.

Its just too much happening at once.

I went through something similar myself.. my mom had a surgery and us kids were in support roles... but stress gets to everyone... hormones mess up for everyone... we all say things that could be said with less spite ... we could all have done better... but i dont forget the bright side.... of how much everyone is trying... to do their best.... and in the end , our sticking through inspite of the hardships and frictions paid off....

Things are better for all of us now. Life is falling in order. Everyone feels a sense of calm returning.

So - ill just say to you - things will settle down. Tempers will cool off. Work will streamline. Health will show progress. We are with you ❤️

@peachThinker662

I want to start by saying that it takes strength to share and express your experience, thanks for sharing this with this community of listeners. A surgery of any type needs time to heal, especially in cases such as yours...which youve mentioned is a major surgery. You deserve to be heard and take the time that you need to heal.

I am sorry that things are not going well with your daughter, I could imagine that is hard to go through and could present furstration or even disappointment. If I may ask, how has the music choice impacted you during this time? Helpful or is it causing other emotions?

You are not alone

@peachThinker662 I have been in the headspace you're describing many times over the last three years. I know it's hard to get out of it, and I'm sorry you're going through that.

Coming back from the bottom is tough as ***, and I am certain you are trying your best! Just keep moving forward, and remember that we got you if you need us never-give-up-never-give-up-day.gif
