No Life Mission
I have no mission in life, beyond sharing Christ with others. I feel like I’m just filling time. Books and drawing… Nothing else. I just… exist.
@jesusredeemedme2425
Just wanted to say , Jesus love you ❤️❤️❤️
@jesusredeemedme2425
It's hard for me right now to find the perfect words of encouragement, especially because I too have moments when I feel the same. But let me tell you this: the first and most important step you've already taken - you've welcomed God into your life! Secondly, everything you're doing now is already part of your life’s mission, which you will one day come to fully understand. You have beautiful hobbies, you’re a wonderful person, and you simply need to let yourself be guided by the Lord toward the path He has prepared for you.
Never forget how deeply loved you are, by Him and by those around you. Your life has meaning, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
You’re not alone in this journey, I’m here for you too!
@jesusredeemedme2425 I think this is how quite a few of us here probably feel. Especially those of us with trauma and/or mental health issues. We work, pay our bills and fill our time with busy things. Maybe it's not so much that we don't have a mission or purpose in life but that we just haven't really discovered it yet? Maybe right now this is your calling. The good you do here, helping so many feel seen, heard and loved, it doesn't go unnoticed. And sharing God and Jesus with others? That's a pretty big deal too. ❤️
@jesusredeemedme2425
I think you found your mission, and that is helping souls like mine heal ever so slightly every day. I might not step foot in the religious section but that's just me 🫣. You do more than JUST EXIST 🥰 you share your love and sillyness with everyone here and I am sure we all appreciate what you say and do. <3
Sending love and hugs your way 🤗🤗💞💞
@jesusredeemedme2425 ❤️❤️
@jesusredeemedme2425
You matter.
Your kindness matters.
Your heart matters.
Your support here matters.
💕💜
@jesusredeemedme2425 awwww. Sending you a lot of hugs. I know that feeling, and it sucks. You are not alone in this, and you don't have to have it all figured out.
When I felt like this, I sat down and asked myself a few tough questions, I can pop them here in case it helps you too. Will divide this into unscrewing the big picture and tackling day to day purpose. Let's get into it!
Unscrewing the big picture:
First, you need to determine the basic thing. Do you want a family some time? Do you want kids? How much are you work oriented? What's your ideal home to work ratio? Do you want to live in your current country or move somewhere different? You don't have to have a big plan, this is just a general direction that you will be comparing the current situation to. Also, it's completely okay to change your mind on these later, so absolutely no pressure. If your plan changes, you can always revisit the does my current situation fit into it thing and adjust as needed. So really, no need to sweat it too hard.
Stuff I asked myself for a little life audit:
- asking myself if I like where I am at life right now (I was completely burnt out in a uni that was destroying my health)
- then asked myself why is this a problem for me (health issues, no time, no energy, just barely getting by, the effort Vs results payoff was little to none)
- what's the ideal outcome of the situation, does it fits into the what do I want for the future (the kids, work, etc question at tbe start, you will see why in my example) and do I really want it (finish studies, start to work in the field, not have a consistent income, have to travel a lot, wake early or work nights, be responsible for safety of people using my sets where I have seriously lacking education to be sure everything is bulletproof and safe, since not all the places have a trained professional construction crew leader who will look at your stuff and call the problems - I am a family oriented person, so even the most "ideal" outcome isn't ideal at all since it would be hard to care for kids and a family if I'm constantly somewhere else for work, especially that i don't really enjoy travelling besides a once in a while holiday)
- I asked myself the most realistic outcome of finishing this - this is the brutally honest with yourself part where you go okay that's the wish but what's the most likely reality, knowing myself? (I will be even more burnt out and push myself even more, then take a gap year and do it again for two more years. Then go out of the school in a world with absolutely no experience, even more behind in life than I already am and will most likely need a year to get myself together again and will be stuck explaining on interviews why I never worked a day in my life despite my age.)
Checking if the current situation aligns with the future wishes will give you a roadmap for what needs to be done. Maybe it's getting a different job, learning a language, taking time to focus on your mental health or some needs that got neglected, or maybe you will see you are on the right track for now, and there is no need for any major changes (I decided to screw it and quit. Then I checked what do I need right now (a break, a gentle job, as little stress as possible, and chose accordingly))
This was how I did it, but of course, maybe there are other questions that are more suitable for you, so feel free to adjust it as needed, and don't panic if what you get is not good. That's what this is for, to check if what you are currently doing in life leads to something you want or if you need to look into changes. So deep breath in, deep breath out. You got this!
Unscrew the short time stuff:
Now to the short term purpose. What are some bigger or more time consuming things you want to try or do that you never get to? Think about all the procrastinated maybe once or later. And lets get into it. There are multiple strategies I use that I find helpful to various levels (they may fluctuate, something may work for a while, then not for a while again, your motivation will fluctuate too, but that's completely okay. The point of this part is that any slow progress is better than none)
Set 3 level difficulty goals:
This was the first I tried, it's usually done for the new year, but you can absolutely do it for shorter time or have your goals be a year from now. It's about having 3 difficulty levels - doable
- challenging
- ambitious
And having a few goals under each that you work towards. I found this strategy to be okay, it certainly helped me get some things done, but lacked motivation for the hard ones (I certainly set them a little too high) but it was a great yearly goals introduction, as it allowed me to reflect at the end of the year on what i achieved, what i pursued and changed my mind about (like seeking a mental evaluation for my ADHD and ocd but saw the price is way too high and I'm not willing to pay that much for someone to tell me I'm right) or what i had no motivation for and why (among others, there has been a read the Bible point i tried a few times but got overwhelmed and stopped). Then adjusted the undone goals for the new year by lowering the bar.
New year's bingo:
Exactly what it sounds, a hot trend this year. Instead of new year resolutions, you make them into tangible goals and put your goals into a bingo grid. While there's not that much time left till the end of the year, you can absolutely still do it. A small 3x3 grid or easier goals in a 5x5 are a completely manageable thing, even if you didn't do it in January. I personally found this much more helpful than the previous strategy, but it could be due to me having a better understanding on how high can i set a bar. If your goal is too high, choose just a part of it (my unobtainable read the Bible goal became read the first 15 books of it this year, what's coming at like 813 pages, a completely manageable read of 2 pages a day on average). I personally chose to mix various life areas into the grid, like health, money, social, faith, creative etc, but you can always do it as you want it to be. Attaching mine for inspiration

I set them to require consistent effort, but you can set them how you like. Most seem undone yet, but at least half of them is in active progress in various stages 😂
Monthly themes:
Another option is doing thematic months, when each you focus on some life areas. So when you set a goal of health for example, you will be focusing more on your physical wellbeing, schedule neglected doctor appointments, eat healthier, go out more or anything you want. Or if the theme is family, you can plan more intentional time and fun with them, or visit and reconnect with more distant relatives. All is up to you

This tactic is a solid 6/10, as your motivation won't stay consistent during the year. Sometimes you crush it, sometimes barely move. But it's great when it works, just don't get discouraged by weaker motivation months.
Should do it more but I have no time monthly intentional checklist:
Basically things you wish you had time for or think should do more often, but can't really find time for. Here is mine, containing things like calling grandparents, gym, learning new things/visiting a cultural event/gallery/museum/whatever

This is a fair enough also solid 6/10 strategy, with fluctuating motivation
Daily goals:
You can also set things you want to do the next day. I found this helpful when I was really depressed as it gave me a what to do with tomorrow day to day purpose, but now it's more frustrating for me as I'm more on the spontaneous side, so currently not using it. But it's an option too.
I think that's all of things I tried, but don't be discouraged if something doesn't work for you. We are all different, and find different things helpful 😊 I believe you will find something that will work eventually 😊 good luck on your purpose finding journey ❤️
Trust that Jesus loves you and that He has a perfect plan for your life!! You’re already fulfilling your mission of serving others like He did, which is amazing! He will work everything out for you and show you where you need to go/what to do/where to take action in your life according to His will. I’ll be praying that he opens doors of opportunity for you and that you break through like never before. For now I’d say just focus on spreading the gospel, living righteously, finding hobbies/activities you really enjoy and can reach people with, and continually strive to listen to His voice because he will make it clear for you. God bless!!
@jesusredeemedme2425 You don't just exist, you have friends who like you and care for you and depend on hearing from you. You brighten everyone up by being here.

@jesusredeemedme2425
You help people here! Do you enjoy helping people? I really do, so if I have nothing going on, I volunteer my time in places where people really need help. Have you thought of maybe making a career out of helping people? I'm disabled, so I can't work a job full time, but I am going through peer support training so I can work with people in recovery. Then I have a job, and I'm getting paid to help people.
I really love that you are sharing the Good News with others. I volunteer at a mission where we feed people, help them find resources, and share how Christ has helped us in our lives. I know He delivered me from a very dark, hard place. Keep sharing your truth!
