Not respecting my wishes
I'm not sure what to do.
My birthday is tomorrow. I have made it as clear as I possibly can. I do not want any party, presents, or even happy birthday wishes. Nobody listens, not even my own (adult) children. I have to take a vacation from work because they do not respect my wishes as well.
I'm to a point, I will have to go for a one day road trip.

You are not alone ... I too have taken the day and did my own things went on a day trip etc.
When people do NOT listen and buying things IT is FOR them ... IMO ...not you.
my spouse KNOWS how i feel but brought home roses. NOT for me...... but to say "i Bought these" and he checked a box of what a good spouse he is. If asked he can claim he bought roses ....i guess he got some "AHHH i wish my hubby would from his co-workers"
I refused to play along put them in water threw them out in few days let him walk around like he did good.
