"One thing I've been afraid to share, but feel safe sharing here is..."

We know that 7 Cups is a very unique and special place where many find a sense of safety and understanding. Our empathy-and-inclusivity-powered community encourages us to be our whole selves, including the parts you feel are broken.
It's often in sharing those very parts, the thoughts, feelings, and experiences we've held close out of fear of judgment or vulnerability, that the most powerful moments arise.
I'd like to remind us how deeply connected we are with a prompt! Members, if you're comfortable sharing, please allow us the privilege of knowing a little more about your journey:

So i had hocd for one year and it was horrible.I developed mechanisms and got to the point where i did not have any thoughts about this and i was feeling great.One day about 2 months ago a thought came to my mind what if the previous thoughts return.So i lived with minimum anxiety for 2 months and 3 days before i felt the worst anxiety since hocd . My mind is always telling me that the previous horrible situation will return i dont have any promblems now with my sexual orintetion i know i am straight i just feel overwhelmed by other kind of thoughts

I had an abusive, alcoholic father (until I was 13) and was bullied and made fun of all through school.
I have been a punching bag my entire life but I'm still here, still standing.
Now I am asked to forgive these people? Not sure I can after all of these years.
I'd lose my motivation to be the better person.
@courageouspanda2006
It's possible to forgive without forgetting. But you know what? It's your right not to if you don't feel it's the right thing for you.

@HiddenSwan25
I have forgiven my father. I'd love to be able to forgive the others. After 45 years, I'm not sure how to go about it. I've had this for far too long.
@courageouspanda2006
It's not easy. When you are ready, it will be a lot of work to put in.
Or, you may never want to forgive them.
Just remember, it's up to you. And, you can change your mind if you want to, it's yours.

@HiddenSwan25
How would I even start? Like I said, I've carried this long enough. It's time I start healing from this and other issues. I'm not getting any younger.
@courageouspanda2006
I used this worksheet.

But please don't feel pressed to forgive. It is valid to be angry at those who have wronged you.
I regret cheating on the love of my life under whichever circumstances it may be. I cannot justify it. And now I have no opportunity to find anyone. I basically don't gel well with people. I feel deep remorse for my actions but what is lost can never be brought back. I had a good relationship with him once. I'm living on those good memories.
@calmMango837
I can understand your regret and loss.
I am lonely have no friends no true companion jn kife except 7 cups people ☺️

One thing I've been afraid to share, but feel safe sharing here is...
Whenever I'm home I'm pacing my room and frankly very uncomfortable. And I wish I could spend more time with people at home but they're all doing their own thing almost all the time. If it was just my siblings I wouldn't care because that's their own thing but when your Dad does it too literally everyday, I just feel more isolated that I'd rather just be out the house with my friends.
I also wish someone would help me declutter my room but that's another thing.
I might come back and post something else when it comes to me

Sometimes surrounding yourself with clutter is a self-protective measure. Sometimes people get too busy, don't they? It's frustrating that the "easier" we make our occupations and responsibilities through technology or what-have-you the busier we make ourselves. It's kind of a vicious cycle. I am sorry you are experiencing these things at home.

@HiddenSwan25 eh I wish it was an issue of being too busy but from what I've seen, all they do is play video games and watch youtube
There have been times of frustration when I'd try to show my Dad a project I was working on but it felt awkward because he was watching a movie or youtube and he'd barely interact with it
I'm sorry 😔
I don’t have any friends or a partner and am so lonely

How difficult it is to deal with Adjustment Disorder, feeling depressed, trapped and hopeless-and, btw, contrary to popular belief, it sometimes lasts a lot longer than 6 months, thank you very much DSM-5! I guess it depends on how many sudden changes happen to a person on or around the same time. It can be totally overwhelming and debilitating. And even therapists don't get it when it's long-term, they just say "Brighten up, Buttercup" and tell you that you should have moved on a long time ago.

@HiddenSwan25.
I am so sorry they have been so dismissive! People forget that the dam-5 is a good tool, but it doesn’t fully describe everyone’s experience with the criteria it lists. Ever body is different.
Those “professionals” should help the person as an individual, not just treat what their perception of the diagnosis.
One thing I've been afraid to share, but feel safe sharing here is that I feel conflicted to the idea of reverting to Islam.
Islam has beautiful ideas, and I am interested in studying the Quran, yet we can't deny the truth behind some members of the Ummah who take advantage of women in the Middle East. My heart is fighting with the idea of accepting Allah, but at the same time I don't want to be an accomplice of movements such as Taliban. :(
one thing I’m afraid to share to those around me is that I feel I no longer see the point in living. I am not planning to do anything, but I just feel like a failure.
I am seen as the star child by many in the family and I think some friends but in truth I have never felt more lost in my life. I put a lot of work in my early twenties into moving abroad, but once I got here it’s as if everything I fought for slowly crumbled before my eyes. All the friends I had here and counted as a support system abandoned me. Moved away (fair, and I don’t hold it against them) or just stopped putting any effort into the friendship. At my job, I felt disconnected and devalued, I didn’t feel any pleasure from by work, and I just got laid off after having my bosses tell me for three hours straight how incompetent I am. I’ve been stuck for about 5 months in a mice infested flat and even though I had a solid salary nobody wanted to rent me a flat because I’m a foreigner and thus have no references. Even my relationship, which is my first one after years of feeling like I wasn’t enough for anybody, even that, started to crumble apart. And I keep wondering, what is the point ? I felt like I genuinely try my best to do things right but it just doesn’t work. And I know that life is tough for everyone. But maybe I’m just not tough enough, not resilient enough, for life. Because I see no point in going on knowing that results will never be proportional to effort. That everything, at all times, might and will fall out of your control. How can one keep rebuilding over and over until it’s done ? And what for ?
@Heather225One thing I feel afraid to share, but feel safe sharing here is,
I have had passive suicidal tendencies most my life along with suicidal ideation, I dont have an active plan but i have a long term plan in that I am going to eventually once i move probably, is get a DNR order and id bracelet so no matter how trivial or simple it would be to bring me back, once i stop breathing that is it , and once my pop passes ill have one less person to worry about me passing, other than my sibilings, if both my siblings pass before I do, at that point, i will probably punch out of life
