I really like this quote because it is true and when we're at the precipice of apologizing or making amends and trying to make something better, we can't get past this very powerful quote and so things stay the same and we find no peace. I think it is normal but we must find a way past it.
It may not be about apologizing, it could be about forgiving. At the face of it, it may seem like the same sticky wicket but in reality one is about you and the other is about them.

Time does not heal all wounds. You can experience intense feelings about something that happened two, five, or twenty years ago. The healing process is what heals wounds-not the passage of time.
Thats so true. It's the work you do to strengthen yourself. People have always said time will heal. The passing by of time does not cause me to forget. Its the journaling, the cying, the hours spent in therapy, the trial and errors ...
@Peaceandlove125 Great observation! I’ve also seen people compare the snowclone version of the quote to the analogy of cutting a tree. Whenever you make a deep cut in a tree, it keeps the cut where it’s visible to the world. It doesn't get smaller, the tree just grows bigger then eventually it's not as big of a deal.
