The Girl No one wanted
I still feel like this at times
Today is one of them
I often wish I knew what it was like to have a mom that was supportive, loving and well a MOM. Someone to go to lunch with every now and again, maybe a walk, chat on the phone, undoubtedly actually cares.
What about a father? He accompanies mom with the support and love. Helps you make difficult decisions, “daddy’s little girl”, shows you how to use tools and build things.
A husband or partner? A man who is so generous to just love you for you and who you have become. A best friend to talk to and tell them how your day went. Date nights. An argument here and there but making up brings the love that closer together.
@peachThinker662
I want you 🥰
As my friend!
As my partner in crime 🥰
The one who I can laugh with!
Cry with!
Be myself with!
You matter to me 💜 💕

I felt your words so deeply… there’s a quiet kind of pain in what you wrote, and I can somehow relate to that feeling of wishing for things you never really got. It’s heavy, and it’s real.☹️
But I want you to know something softly and honestly, you’re not as alone as your heart makes you feel. People like you, who feel this deeply and still keep going, have a strength that doesn’t disappear. There is hope for you… the kind that grows slowly, almost silently, and shows up in moments you don’t expect.
You deserve support, love, warmth and even if it didn’t come from where you wished, it doesn’t mean it will never come. You’re becoming someone brighter, kinder, and stronger than you realize.
You’re seen. You matter. And better days do find hearts like yours. 💜✨
Andd what you saying?????? 😭 i want you to be my friend 😭🤧

😭😭😭
@Ailuraphilelove8tear9
Yes, that fantasy of what could have been 💭 but was not. Some times I go down the woulda coulda shoulda rabbit hole
you spoke such sweet and kind words. ❤️ I know I have the biggest heart. It needs lots of love sometimes and I don’t always know where to turn.
This year I made some HUGE self care decisions. Some were letting go and some were letting people in. All out of love. 🤔 I guess for myself too!!!
We are totally friends!!! I enjoy you tremendously !!!

@peachThinker662 🌸
yeah, that “what could’ve been” feeling , I get that too.
You really do have such a big, gentle heart, and it shows. I’m glad you made those choices for yourself… 😃🤗
I’m happy we’re friends. 💜😭✨
@peachThinker662 I understand and I feel that too😥 thank God we have 7 cups, we are all family here, and we love you and care about you deeply💖 I know it's not quite the same thing though 🙁 longing for love of a family can really hit hard 🙁 make sure you give yourself the love you needed so badly💖 hugs you tightly 💖 everything is gonna be ok 💖
@Tinywhisper11
i honestly don’t know what I would have done without cups this year ❤️
@peachThinker662 me neither💖💖💖💖
@peachThinker662 hi you can talk to me
Hi … @peachThinker662 … Thanks for sharing so openly on this topic.
As I look back on my 54 years on this planet, I remember to my core how absent my father was. He worked in a Chinese food restaurant, and during the school year he worked the late shift. Then during the summers, he would switch to the opening shift. It was like he purposely avoided me throughout the year (including during his days off). WTF?
When I grew old enough to piece it together, I hated him until the day of his untimely death when I was 17 years old.
I continued to resent him into adulthood, especially when I had my own son who I couldn’t wait to spend time with—playing, laughing, and building “solar powered” pizza “ovens” from recycled cardboard boxes and tin foil … and now the boy’s about to graduate high school!
I won’t get too far into my resentment toward my mother who used to beat me with a broomstick and whose words left scars that cut deep into my spirit and self-esteem for decades.
I say all of this to really express the gratitude I have for the peers and mentors who the Universe has put on my path. When I read what peachThinker662 wrote, one person came immediately to mind. He was a mentor during one of my many career changes. My goal had been to get a teaching license, and as I was preparing for the licensure exam, I talked to my mentor about my nervousness and fear of failing the test. His response was, “You’re gonna be fine.” But he said it in a way that I truly felt his confidence in me. Other friends had said the same thing, but it wasn’t the same.
Curtis was this older gentleman, tall and seasoned. He had lived a full life, happily retired, with a wife and grown children. I could call him anytime for anything.
So, when he said I was going to be fine, I believed him. And then I completely bombed.
But you see, (and I didn’t know until this writing) I totally believed in Curtis’s belief in me, Tom, the person who was right in front of him—not the person who was going to pass the test and become this “brilliant” teacher. What Curtis really said was, “You’re gonna be fine”—whether you pass the test or not.
That had been the message which missed the mark my entire life … and in the moment, something changed inside me, a hole (of the hundreds in my foundation) was miraculously filled.
Whether we get the perfect parent or not, it is my belief that the Universe provides. As I was writing this post, I was listening to music … and there was the Universe “providing” in the form of singers, and artists, and music to highlight and reveal some truths in my history. peachThinker662 and everyone here has also been a part of this revelation for me, today.
And that’s why I have such strong feelings about 7cups and why I believe a lot of people can be helped here.
For anyone new, please keep coming back … and ask for help.
Well i am feeling the same thing... the guy I loved never valued me....was literally emotionally unavailable then I was promised appraisal this year but i never got that because of the lovely politics played by my lovely colleagues whom I used to help a lot....then I'm isolated from the society since I'm unmarried...a lot of societal pressure parental pressure is there...but I'm still surviving... because I don't have any other option
@peachThinker662 Your words are deeply moving, and as a father, they stir something tender and protective in me. No one should ever feel unwanted, especially someone who longs so beautifully for connection, care, and love.
You are not the girl no one wanted.
You are the daughter every father dreams of cherishing.
Love, care, and belonging are your birthright.
And you are worthy of them all.
I think of my own daughters when I read this. I want them to know they're cherished, not because of what they do, but simply because they exist. That's the kind of love you deserve too; from a mother who listens, a father who guides, and a partner who sees your heart and holds it gently.
Even if those roles weren't filled the way they should've been, your longing speaks to your strength. You still believe in love, in closeness, in being seen. That hope is powerful. And while I can't rewrite the past, I can say this: you are worthy of every kind of love you described.
You're NOT "the girl no one wanted."
You're the girl who still dares to want love, and that makes you radiant.
You sound like a wonderful father.
I have come to the conclusion it’s grief. And I know grief comes in waves.
I’ve often wanted to forgive so that I could move on.
In this moment, and also moving forward, it’s about not letting the sadness and resentment define who I am. It’s about moving forward without it holding me back.
I KNOW I carry SO much love and compassion. I provide that as a mother.
One day I’ll find a partner. Hopefully lol
But I know this, I will never ever take the word love for granted again.
@peachThinker662 That's such a powerful reflection, and I admire the strength in your words. Grief does come in waves, but the way you're choosing to meet it, with forgiveness, compassion, and a refusal to let it define you, shows remarkable resilience. You're right: carrying love and giving it as a mother is already proof of how deeply you embody it.
The hope you hold for a partner is beautiful, but even now, your journey is already filled with meaning because you've decided never to take love for granted again. That awareness transforms pain into wisdom and guides you toward the kind of connection you truly deserve.
Hi … @LeoInPerpetuity
It’s great to meet another father in this wonderful space ☺️
Hello @FaithfulScout, it truly is. It feels special to connect here as fathers, sharing both the challenges and the love that comes with the role.
Spaces like this remind us that even when life takes different paths, the bond of wanting the best for our children is something we all carry. I'm glad we crossed paths in this community.
@peachThinker662 (offers hugs) I feel this way too. Well maybe not the little girl ... but the unwanted. The wishing for supportive and loving parents. Wishing for someone who celebrates you, as you deserve to be celebrated.
We both deserve to be celebrated.
Thank you. I am blessed to have you as my friend as well. I love you too Twist! ❤️ sheds a happy tear
@peachThinker662 ❤️😊
I'm so sorry you are feeling this way @peachthinker sending 🤗 hugs!
