What Should I Do On My Day Off?
I’m absolutely exhausted, nearly broken down, riddled with overwhelm and overload and just… too much. I’m using my day off as a day off… No errands, just resting. But I’m torn… I always have this deep urge and need to be productive, even though my mind and my body are begging, desperate, silently crying out for a rest. I don’t know how to soothe that ache for productivity while resting. Or to silence it altogether.
So with all this in mind… What are some things I could do while I stay home, and try to give my body and mind some time to recuperate and recover?
Some specific things that come to mind (whether good or bad, I know not) are:
Read my book (“The Residence”, about the inner working of the White House)
Go through a small stack of papers I’ve been procrastinating on
Read through my stack of kids’ books
Draw Christmas cards
Do dishes
Send some mail to a friend
7Cups
Read my Bible
Clear out pictures, emails, etc, on computer and phone
And… yeah. I ran out of ideas already. :(
I want to rest, but I don’t want to either overwork myself or drive myself mad with boredom. Any ideas, please? Thank you :)
Just do what you feel like doing at the moment. It's an off day, so you can do whatever you want.
Or you can be like me and sleep through out the whole day. That's a good option too.

I'm sorry you are feeling so bad, sending you love, leave the guilt behind, being productive can also mean prioritising you, and your mental health, so chill, read, sleep, draw, do whatever helps you feel more like Kiara, because Kiara matters 💜🥰

I would like to suggest the following steps to come out of this cycle -
Firstly start having a daily routine. Some things like yoga, exercise, meditation or walk with tracking of the time spen. If required take some classes to get started
Secondly try to do something where you can earn, contribute to the society or learn something which you wanted to learn from long time
@jesusredeemedme2425 i relate so much to that urge to be productive, it haunts me so much lol. some ideas: binging a show, anime or watching a movie, listening to music, journalling, taking a 15-30 minute nap, going on a walk. i'm out of ideas now as well.
