Yay progress!
It has honestly been a rough month or two and especially the last couple of weeks have been really difficult. I was feeling almost numb and just having no desire to turn to things that would normally help.
But today, I finally started to feel myself coming back. Laughs felt less hollow. Things I enjoy felt more restful. And tonight I finally sat down to read my Bible again and felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders. And now I feel like crying. I know that doesn’t sound positive but when I started counseling a year ago, I said that I wanted to be able to cry, because it felt like even when I needed to, I couldn’t. It’s not much tonight, but it’s there.
I’m trying to be more open about the hard things I face, which has always been difficult for me. But I also want to celebrate the wins that come. I’m grateful for this place I can come to be vulnerable.
So here’s to making it—one happy tear at a time 🥲
@BerenTinuviel
Theres nothing negative about crying. 💛
I am sooo proud of youu for being able to recognise that you’ve been doing and feeling better, and for taking a moment to celebrate yourself also. 🤗
You deserve sooo many more such moments in life, sweet reminders to yourself “I’m getting my spark back”… I don’t think there’s anything better than this feeling of returning to yourself. 💛
Oh and I’m all for #TeamCrying xD extra extra proud of you for allowing yourself this release of your pent up emotions. 🤗
Congratulations, @BerenTinuviel ! 💛 I'm so glad you're starting to feel like yourself again. After such a rough couple of months, those small signs (a laugh that feels real, a quiet moment with your Bible, even a few tears) really are wins worth celebrating.
Your post touched me, because I've been in that numb place too, where nothing seems to help and even the things you love feel far away. So I know how big it is to feel yourself coming back. And happy tears are still tears. Thank you for being so open with us. Here's to making it, one happy tear at a time. 🥹
