how to forgive bad decisions that been made?
@hopefulencounter
For me when I’m in regret, I allow myself to feel the regret, like actually feel it. Because it’s okay to regret things, it’s a normal feeling. By allowing myself to actually feel the regret, once day it’ll come naturally to you that it was just a lesson learned and something you wouldn’t do again.

I hate regret so much. But as hard as it is to accept. I am learning slowly how to let go and forgive myself of all. Because I need to move on, I can't undo what had happened. Though I mentally hate myself for doing something wrong and not thinking about it first. But it's how we learn.
Perhaps a start would be realizing that at the time you made these decisions, you made the best you could. I don’t think I’ve encountered anyone who seriously sits down and says, “Let me make the WORST decision possible.” You use what you have, whether it be data, intuition, past training (good or bad), and then proceed. And there’s so much involved that we often don’t know, can’t know, or sometimes just don’t want to know for some reason. So much is not under our control. And decisions can be like a stone thrown into a pond on a dark night. They have ripples that we can’t see at the time.
Rather than castigating yourself for the past, use it to learn. If you have things you wish you’d done differently, consider how you can make choices now that reflect what you regret. If you can’t, then recognize that you’re still human. This is part and parcel of being human. And give yourself breathing room from self-judgment while you recalibrate. There’s plenty of harshness that can happen in the day to day of ordinary life. There’s world itself can seem to rain judgment upon us. No need to add to that by being mean to yourself.
May you know happiness and its causes; may you be free of suffering and its causes; may you know peace; may you dwell at ease with yourself.
