loneliness
even though i deeply love my partner, i find myself so lonely sometimes. he seems to be much more invested in social media.
i have a job where i work most of the day alone and that feels less lonely than coming home most days. i have childhood trauma that makes communicating feel like a burden. i find that writing down my feeling before talking about them is easier. reading is easier than talking. i also feel like im overthinking and being over dramatic about the whole thing. so i dont know whats going on.
i think the first step i want to take is start practicing more self cate on the daily and to focus soo much more of my energy on myself. but the lonelines is so hard. thankfully i have my cats, they always make me feel loved.

Thank you for sharing all of that it's incredibly brave of you to be so honest about your feelings.
What you're experiencing isn’t overdramatic at all it's deeply human. Feeling lonely even in the presence of someone you love can be especially painful, and it makes sense that it stings more when you've already been through difficult things growing up. Your awareness of all this shows real strength, and the fact that you're thinking about self-care and writing things out is a powerful, healing step.
It's okay that communication feels heavy. You’re not broken for finding it hard it’s just the way your nervous system learned to protect you. Writing your feelings before speaking is a beautiful and valid way to express yourself, and anyone who truly wants to know you will appreciate and honor that process.
It’s not selfish to focus on yourself it’s necessary. Pouring energy into your own well-being isn’t turning away from love, it’s making space for deeper, healthier connection both with yourself and others.
And your cats?
They get you in a way words can’t. That pure, quiet love is something truly sacred. Let them remind you daily that you are deeply lovable.
You are not alone, even when it feels that way. Keep being gentle with yourself you’re doing better than you think.
I relate to being able to write my feelings better than being able to say it out loud. I too suffer from feelings of loneliness especially since I have moved to hostel. I hope you find peace and your days keep getting better💖
I don't have any wise words to say, just wanted to comment, because I feel exactly the same. Take care of yourself, it'll surely get better
I feel like I’m reading my own words. This is the absolute worst feeling ever. When home stops feeling like home, when you don’t know where to turn to feel safe again.
What I learned during my process is that you have to find YOUR true happiness first. Your happiness cannot depend on anyone else.
Just remember, you are not too much, you are not being over sensitive or over dramatic. Your feelings are real and true and deserve respect and nurture.
I hope you find peace because you deserve nothing less. 🫶🏻
I understand.
Struggling similarly but no partner.
I have found that spending quality time alone helps. By spending time with myself as a conscious choice, it helps me get more comfortable being alone.
@brightbutterfly1008 It can feel odd, especially when it feels it shouldn't be like this? I think another confusing thing is that genuine friendships that allow you to open about your own feelings is so rare these days.
As I've grown older, I have felt this way many times over. But, even voicing them or putting them to words does help I say does help as you have.
@brightbutterfly1008 please never invalidate your feelings or feelings that you are being dramatic, trust your instincts and communicate, maybe trying to set up more date nights together and having fun and putting time and energy into each other, you shouldn't feel lonely in a relationship. Wishing that you feel better soon 💜🥰
@brightbutterfly1008 I understand completely. My husband loves to spend his free time on video games or watching tv. I keep saying that I’d like to spend time together, but then he acts like I’m just trying to keep him from playing his game and I’m being dramatic and the whole nine yards. I am left feeling so lonely and sad. We’ve only been together five years and I’m still so very much in love with him but I feel like the spark is already dimming
