Grief

Grief isn’t loud. It’s silent. It doest hit you all at once. It comes in waves , in quite moments , in the spaces it used to fill. It’s reaching for your phone before remembering there is no one to call. Its hearing their favorite song in the store and realizing you cant tell them about it.                              Its laughing at something and feeling the ache of knowing that they will never laugh with you again. People think grief is just sadness but its also love with nowhere to go.                                    It’s carrying the absence in the small everyday moments no one else notices. Its waking up and forgetting for a moment that they are gone until reality sinks all at once.                                                    You don’t just move on. You just learn to live around the loss you carry in the quiet , in the memories , in the way they changed you because grief never fades. It just becomes a part of who you are. You just learn to live with it.  Little by little we let go of the loss but never of loss.

Grief I feel is one of the most "can use all the words in the world and yet fall short to contain its meaning" experiences ever. It's everything you've said here and so much more.

What a gentle way to explain what it may be like to grieve. Thank you for sharing, Gracey, you use your words so beautifully! 💛

@uniqueGrace8272 heard. the grief im experiencing isn't a person. the form is loss in a big opportunity. im going through something called mental paralysis. this awakened alot of my depression symptoms. its loud and scary and i dont feel like i can move sometimes. But i get up everyday and try to hold onto something to ground me.. i got to the gym, conversate with friends, do something different in my routine. the biggest struggle is showing up for yourself when it feels impossible. im spiritual person. i connected with someone here today who is spiritual and that weight of sadness lifted just a bit. Religion you find many people to talk with about. but spiriutality has no rules or restrictions, its open and honest. The reason for existence.. sadness.. grief.. i can't explain the answers you get when you close your mind and hold onto something beyond knowledge but connecting with someone on that level is like feeling the touch of the guided hands (jesus, angel, whomever you hold faith) and it feels good. I took a nice held in breath of relief. May this guidance find you.

"Love with nowhere to go" That's such a beautiful way to put it.

It’s the realization that I can’t turn to my person and say “hey you remember when our child did this or we did this” and no one can help you remember that when you start forgetting. Or maybe just have a question about it and that really really sucks!
